Mentone Pre School is a community owned kindergarten offering three and four year old programs in Bayside Melbourne, within walking distance to public transport (Mentone train station and bus stops) and the Mentone shopping precinct. Services
I began teaching at Mentone Pre School in 2011 after a break from teaching while I stayed at home with my children. I completed my Bachelor of Early Childhood studies at Melbourne University and have taught both 3 and 4 year old kindergarten groups since graduating in 1993.
If I had to name one thing it would have to be the relationships that you form with children and their families throughout the year, and the impact this has on children's learning.I feel privileged to have the opportunity to watch and support the children grow and become part of a community. I believe that providing a sense of belonging for children and their families ensures that they will flourish as happy and inquisitive learners!

In 2016 Mentone Pre School decided to introduce a Bush Kinder program. After much planning and organising from staff and committee, both our 4 year old groups got to experience a trial for one session. At that trial session they found abundant wildlife (cockatoos, caterpillars, rabbits, ducklings, a possum and a tawny frogmouth) and all the children loved running, climbing and jumping.

Our 3 year old program (Dolphins) runs on Tuesday morning from 8.30am until 12 noon, Thursday afternoon from 2pm until 4.30pm and totals 6 hours of preschool per week.

We have made the right choice to be part of the Mentone Pre School. We felt very warm with the reception from all, after the big relocation from NZ. Kaya loved this place from day 1. They took care of her very well and We as parents could not be more amazed. Greatest place to be and We really miss them.🥰🥰🥰

I cannot recommend this kinder enough. The staff are so caring and nurturing, they have such an amazing way of connecting with each and every child. And the outdoor space is beautiful. We feel we made the best decision sending our daughter to the 4yr old kinder at Mentone Preschool, our daughter absolutely loves it and we have enjoyed watching her thrive this year and be prepared for primary school next year.
