Please see our enrolments section for more details on how to apply with the City of Kingston's Central Registration Scheme. Established in 1948, the beachside Parkdale Preschool is a vibrant, community-minded service. Wholly owned and run by a parent-led committee, the kindergarten is experienced in delivering a three-year-old group and two government-funded four-year-old groups.
Our families work in partnership with teachers to ensure the preschool year is a positive learning experience that nurtures each child. Each child is supported and challenged to grow and learn at their own pace in a safe, warm, caring and most importantly fun environment. Our pre-schoolers are encouraged to explore and investigate our learning spaces, both indoors and out, which are rich with natural and man-made materials.

As of 2022 Victorian Preschool Kindergarten Programs for children in both 3 year old and 4 year old programs are partly funded by the State Government. Term fees cover the remainder of our operating costs including running the program, staff salaries, materials, resources and equipment, building and grounds maintenance, visitors and excursions.
Our preschool belongs to the families enrolled each year. We are an incorporated association with Committee of Management that is elected annually at our AGM. The Committee is made up of elected volunteers who are prepared to dedicate time to ensure the Preschool operates in the best interests of the children and families within the community.
Through play, in both our indoor class room and outdoor nature play space, we believe children explore and learn to understand the world around them as they come to communicate, discover, imagine and create. When children play they are showing what they have learned and what they are trying to understand.

We have had 2 years at Parkdale Pre-school. The outdoor space is amazing and the teaching staff endlessly kind and patient with their little charges. The attention to school readiness has made a big difference to our son. Our little boy used to come home singing every day that first year and talking non stop the second. Heaps of extra excursions incursions too, eg beach day, swimming at Toby Haenan, making pizzas and bread at a bakery, yoga, dog safety.
We moved here from interstate and joining a community kinder really made us feel part of the community. A wonderful, lovely school.
