Services
A filling is used to repair a tooth that is affected by decay, cracks, fractures and trauma. The decayed or affected portion of the tooth will be removed and then filled with a composite (tooth coloured) or amalgam (silver) filling. Composite fillings being tooth coloured are the most common type of filling and provide a close colour match to your existing teeth.
Dental implants offer a permanent and proven solution to missing teeth. The implant process involves attaching a custom-made, artificial tooth to an anchor post surgically implanted in the jaw bone. This anchor post is made of titanium, which is very compatible in the human body. This post integrates into the bone, providing a firm anchor on which a natural-looking tooth can be placed.
The aim of root canals is to save a tooth that is badly damaged due to decay, disease or injury and involves removing the nerve from the centre of the tooth. There is no substitute for your own natural teeth so if it can be saved, it is generally the best option. Once the dying nerve is removed, a root filling is placed and a permanent filling or crown placed over the top.
Some people experience pain from their tempero-mandibular joints. This is the joint between your lower jaw (mandible) and your skull. Due to anatomical variations and para-function (which mainly means clenching and grinding teeth, especially at night) in some individuals, the joint, ligaments and muscles in these areas can become very tender and painful, and jaws can "lock" out of position.
A veneer is a thin layer of either porcelain or resin material used mainly to improve the aesthetics of a tooth. Resin veneers are placed directly in the mouth. The are placed in one visit, less expensive than porcelain, but have a greater tendency to stain and chip. Porcelain veneers require two visits, as they are made in a laboratory and cemented on the second visit.

My partner was booked in for a general clean and tartar removal, however upon returning home there was still a substantial amount of tartar (only realised when taking photos inside his mouth once home). He only got a mirror to look in his teeth for a few seconds at the dentist so didn't notice the tartar at the back. The dentist never mentioned the tartar, why it was there or wether a second appointment was necessary to remove it fully. We won't be returning but hope others have better experiences!

I went and saw Dr Jason Dann at Waterdale Dental yesterday for a long overdue clean and took some concerns about periodontitis to him, and he was great. Gentle, friendly and just really great (in so far as a trip to the dentist can be great). Would definitely recommend him!

Dr Jason has been my family dentist for over 10 years. We all actually look forward to going, even my 9 ear old son. Jason is so friendly and good at what he does, you always walk out with your teeth feeling super clean. One of the things I appreciate most is his thorough explanation of all the procedures, the rationale behind them, and his "wait and see" approach to many potential issues rather than rushing in and doing the maximum possible as other dentists I have seen in the past. I have recommended many people to him over the years and they have all been as impressed as I have with his expertise
