Services
We are located in Bondi Beach and Erskineville in Sydney. We work alongside your primary care givers, your GP, Obstetrician, Midwife or Paediatrician, to provide the best care and support to you. You'll find plenty of info about our practitioners here but first, a little bit about our Red Tent. The Red Tent was the name of a book by Anita Diamant, in which she re-imagines one of the biblical stories, the story of Dinah, from her perspective.
Registered with AHPRA and the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA 1942, www.acupuncture.org.au) and is a registered provider with all major health funds. Hi, I'm Naomi Abeshouse, Acupuncturist, Chinese herbalist and Doula.
I found myself enjoying working with pregnant women so much, I became a Doula (a birth support person) and was compelled to create a holistic centre in which pregnant women and their families can be thoroughly supported.I set about gathering like-minded practitioners that I had heard about over the years, into this wonderful community.

Rebecca's health practice integrates the foundations of eastern medicine across a broad scope of western medicine. Her journey in eastern medicine began over 15 years ago in Lohan qigong, with further education in undergraduate and post graduate study in Traditional Chinese and Japanese medicine in Australia, China and Japan.
I have been a practicing midwife and lactation consultant for 14 years and in the last 6 years have enjoyed integrating my acupuncture and massage skills into working with pregnant women and their families. I love being involved in this amazing process in which I can bring my experience and knowledge to enrich their capacity to make real choices and have an empowered birth and most importantly, a healthy outcome.

I was referred to the red tent by my midwife. I had a very stressful two weeks prior to giving birth as I was pressured to have an induction by the hospital, which I didn't want. Naomi, Kyla and Rebecca all helped me incredibly to prepare for birth. I took 5 session prior to being induced which helped me calm down and prepare my body, cervix and Bub to the big day. In the end, I had the most beautiful vaginal birth despite being induced with artificial oxytocin. My body was ready and my mind calm. I really feel it was a lot thanks to the acupuncture so I owe red tent the best memory of my life

I saw Rebecca at Red Tent for acupuncture while I was undergoing fertility treatments and during my pregnancy. Rebecca is a warm and friendly practitioner with a deep knowledge of Chinese medicine and how it supports women’s health. She helped me with a range of fertility and pregnancy-related issues and I learnt a lot from her about my health, wellbeing and birth preparation. Highly recommended.

I've been getting acupuncture treatments from Rebecca at Red Tent for the last 4 years and I can't thank her enough for the wonderful help she provided in preparing my body for pregnancy and birth and the support she's given me ever since to maintain health and energy. Rebecca is a fantastic chinese medicine practitioner with loads of experience and a very thorough approach. She's also a lovely kind hearted woman, very in tune with the wonders and workings of a woman's body.

Bec is such a friendly and kind practitioner. She really listens to you and has a lot of compassion for women who are trying to fall pregnant. I love her humour and ability to explain things well, as Chinese Medicine can be a bit confusing at times to understand some of the concepts . I look forward to my treatments from her .
