Lizzards Preschool & Long Day Care has been caring and educating children in Hawkesbury Heights, Winmalee and Springwood area since 1994. We provide a stimulating, safe and happy environment for children aged between 0 - 6 years. We are open from 7:00AM to 6:00PM Monday to Friday, 50 weeks per year.
Our Service is also fully accredited to provide you with the new Child Care Subsidy (CCS) as a deduction in your fees. Run by a former practicing midwife as well as a family health nurse, Mellissa Amirilayeghi has the knowledge and experience in ensuring your loved ones receive the best possible care and education during their stay at Lizzards.

Our daughter attended Lizzards from 6mo and I couldn’t recommend more! The carers are so welcoming and really do go above and beyond for the children in their care. They follow the children’s lead and create activities around their interests and lives, including helping our daughter prepare for a new sibling, baking and gardening. Our daughter especially loved bush kinder- what a great resource! We love Lizzards and can’t fault them!

I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff at Lizzards! Since beginning daycare, my son has blossomed, making so much progress and developing in many ways. All the staff were very accommodating of my son’s needs, learning how to use his cleft palate bottles, supporting him to overcome some feeding challenges and even allowing the OT to come out on multiple occasions to review and work with my son and the educators. They are a lovely, friendly and approachable group, my son is learning so much from them. Care is the best there!

I recently spoke to Chloe about my daughter requiring tonsil and adenoids surgery, Annabelle’s anxiety over this and how we may prepare. Expecting the suggestion of a book or two, instead Chloe went above and… beyond, delivering me a package of resources, colouring in, and steps Chloe herself was going to take to assist Annabelle. This shouldn’t have surprised me as it seems completely normal for Chloe and the Lizzards staff in general. The love my daughter has for the staff (looking at you Shaylee!) is wonderful to see and I know she is in the best of hands. I’m so happy

I am so glad I found Lizzards! My youngest is wild and free at home but shy at daycare. The staff have been nothing but supportive and helpful since he started there last year. He struggles with changes but they are always flexible and patient. Now he loves going to Lizzards every day. They have a great balance between free play and education. I’m amazed at how much he learns. Thank you Lizzards!

Lizzards is where my son has thrived in early childhood. The staff are brilliant and genuinely love what they do as educators. I cannot praise them enough and forever on we will always hold fond memories of our son's years there. Our son is off to big school now. I have tears in my eyes knowing his years at Lizzards are now over. Thank you for everything Lizzards.

The team there are so amazing, attentive and thoughtful. They genuinely care for the kids and are passionate about their growth. Often they have directed activities to the kids specific interests, they have a… wide variety of hand on practical activities and keep the family involved. My boys are so happy there and I feel lucky to have such beautiful people caring for my kids.

Without a doubt, I would recommend Lizzards! Scarlett absolutely loves her days at daycare (I think more than home 😅). Chloe is Scarlett’s second Mum and it’s so lovely to see the care they have for each individual child. All the kids are well mannered and play friendly. She comes home happy and tired, couldn’t be better 😍

Lizzards has been such a beautiful and wonderful part of my children’s lives for the past 2.5 years. The staff have been kind and nurturing, the facilities are pristine and engaging and my children have been happy and loved. We will truly miss Lizzards as we move on to big school, and I feel like the lessons and love that they have received in their time at Lizzards has helped shape them into the wonderful and confident children they are today. I am forever indebted to Lizzards for loving my babies like their own
