Services
Blaxland Preschool Kindergarten was our first experience of outside family care. But the warmth, support, encouragement and love emanating from our preschool is something that any family would admire and envy. The connection that staff develop with each and every child provides a firm foundation for them to grow, create and feel positive about learning.
Blaxland Preschool first opened its doors to the families of the area in 1965. The land was donated to the community by a local resident and the money to erect the building was raised by a dedicated and enthusiastic group of parents. In 2015, the preschool celebrated 50 years of providing excellent preschool education in the Blue Mountains.
We have a highly qualified and very professional, caring and dedicated team staffing the preschool. Each class has a university trained Early Childhood teacher leading the team in the provision of our preschool program. As an early childhood teacher for the past 29 years, I have taught in and managed a wide range of early childhood programs, from long day care and preschool early childhood services to inclusion support programs.
To finalise the application process, the payment of our $10 Waiting List Application Fee (non-refundable) needs to be paid either in person with cash or you can make a direct deposit into our bank account. Our bank account details are on the application form. We receive State Government funding from the Department of Education's "Start Strong Preschool Funding Model" to support the operation of our Preschool.
We celebrate diversity at our preschool. We currently have access to a range of programs, funding and services that support the inclusion of children with additional needs and disabilities. If your child has been identified as needing support in any area, or has undergone formal assessment please speak to the Director so that we can determine their eligibility to access further support.

A good lower Blue Mountains preschool, in a beautiful setting, facing a large triangular tree shaded park. I sent my kids to this preschool after hearing very good reviews from past parents & students and have not been disappointed. Hardworking, dedicated and caring teachers who strive to provide a well rounded education through play, creativity, imagination and discovery. You couldn't ask for better!

We highly recommend this preschool! Our whole family feels welcome & valued by all staff members. We're well informed about our child's progress, ups & downs via thoughtful observations & reflections in conversation, photos & portfolios. Most importantly, our little bloke is excited to get there in the morning & returns home feeling fantastic & full of stories about what he's learned, created or played!

Both my daughters have gone to Blaxland Preschool Kindergarten and we have found it to be a wonderful place! The children learn through a play based program that is engaging and responsive to the kids' interests. The staff are incredibly dedicated and truly care about the kids. There is a strong focus on inclusiveness and we have found the preschool do a fabulous job catering for the different complex needs of kids that come. It is a true Community Preschool that strives to cater for the needs of the community that own and run it. My children have both developed a strong sense of belonging at preschool
