A progressive martial arts school, with a modern approach to its training and teaching program. The system is designed around making each student a complete martial artist. With training focused on Karate, Kickboxing & Grappling (Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Wrestling) as an art form, self defence and sport/competition.

The modern approach at the Bushido Academy dojo allows students to understand the "place" for the values taught in the martial arts and their "place" in a modern society. With an understanding of how this will make them a "better version of them self", both mentally and physically. This also applies to how the student will conduct themselves inside and outside of the dojo.

Jissen Budo Report

Jissen Budo International (JBI) is an organisation of senior and accomplished martial artists who assist others in developing their skill sets in regard to real fighting, while promoting the true spirit of budo. In essence, its aim is to return the focus of martial arts training to practicality, applicability and development of a combative mindset.

Bushido Academy is a fantastic family run Dojo. My daughter has been doing BJJ and Karate for a few years now and absolutely loves the discipline and structure that Sensei Jol provides. We absolutely recommend Bushido Academy for anyone looking for a great facility to train at.

Sensei Jolyon and his wife Brenda operate an amazing club where they deliver their passion, dedication and training to their students. Practical Karate and Jiu-Jitsu with realistic applications!!! Never been more motivated than I am now with Bushido Academy.

My son has been doing BJJ JIU_JITSU with sensei Jolyon and sempai Brenda for the past 2 years and i was blown away by the calibre of his Teaching,the Technicality of moves explained in a way the Kids could understand, the fun the Kids had warming up as well as learning they drills to help with their co-ordination. But also, just how welcoming and respectful the club is and everyone in it! As our son has been bullied in the past, we felt that he needed to learn BJJ Skills to deal with potentially difficult situations which has been covered in class. it has certainly put my mind at ease! my son loves

Great family-run martial arts school.
Junior classes on Tue & Thu 6:30-7:30.
Senior class from 7:30-9:30.
Teaching both karate and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Old-school ethos - one grading per year, and you don't get a new belt unless you've earnt it.
