Started in 2011, L.I.K.E. Dance Studio is a boutique dance studio, located near St Leonards train station in Sydney's Lower North Shore, which offers dance classes for children and adults with a strong focus on choreography, storytelling and performance. Our model is based around creating performance programmes.
What this means for our students is that they are constantly involved in new exciting projects and they get a great exposure to various styles of dance, including modern, hip-hop, jazz, contemporary, ballet, and acrobatics. All students have an opportunity to regularly perform on stage in front of family and friends.

We are proud to have a fantastic team of talented, dedicated and passionate teachers and choreographers from very diverse backgrounds. Elena was born in Latvia and completed a degree in Music Theory and Composition. She has over 20 years experience in teaching, critiquing and composing music. Together with her younger daughter, Lana, Elena has been involved in several dance studios overseas and has been exposed to the various styles of dance.
First of all, on behalf of our whole team, we would like to thank you for another wonderful term, full of joy, laughter, creativity and amazing dedication from everyone. Despite all the restrictions and challenges, LIKE DANCE remains a place to escape, create, learn and grow in a group of like minded dancers.
Our youngest competition group, Kids No Limits, appeared at Rainbow Dance Australia competition in Sydney. Our "Funny Butterflies", choreo by Lana Borisova, came in 2nd and was a highest scoring jazz performance in under 8s. Finally, our Milena took out the title Miss Petite Ultimate Dancer with her contemporary "Mama Moya", choreo by Lana Borisova.

I have been teaching with Tap 'n Arts since 2009 in a variety of dance styles and levels, and cannot say enough great things about the staff and students. As an instructor, student, and performer, I have experienced many "walks of life," so to speak, and can honestly say that Tap 'n Arts is the most family-oriented and supportive environment in which I have ever been involved. Opportunities for professional development and community engagement are abundant for staff, as well as new learning experiences and teaching/performance opportunities for students. The instructors work well together and learn

Tap 'n Arts has been a huge part of our lives for many years now. My daughter, now 6 has been taking dance at the studio since she was 2. The owners and instructors are like a second family to her now and I could not imagine her dancing at any other studio. What is special about Tap 'n Arts is that there is quality instruction but it is not a high pressure or competitive environment at all. The studio is very family oriented and flexible and they truly care about their students. I cannot think of a single teacher that I would not want my daughter to have and the teaching assistants are amazing

My daughter just finished her first year of dance here. She liked it, we did not however. All the studio cares about is money. There are way better studios in the area that offer more for the students AND families! My daughter did well in her performance (she's only 2) but the show itself was not great. It was late getting started, the lights kept going on and off (did someone not know what they were doing?) and a lot of the dances (specifically tap) looked the same. There's not even a theme with the dance show. Each year it's just "Steppin Out" and whatever the year is.

As a student and faculty assistant of Tap N Arts, I would describe my experience as nothing but excellent and pleasant. I have been dancing at this studio for 13 years and it is definitely family based. I have made life-long friends who have become my family and always have my back. In my experience as an assistant (I have taught pre-school tap for about 4 years), the younger dancers have an amazing experience and begin learning the basics, but they grow to become beautiful and wonderful dancers. I would go nowhere else to grow in my dancing experience. The staff members are very pleasant and always

I danced at Tap n' Arts from when I was 3 years old, until I graduated high school. This dance studio has given me numerous opportunities. Not only did it allow me to advance in dance, it taught me many valuable lessons I use everyday. I was able to create lifelong friendships, learn responsibility, goal setting, time management, and professionalism. I learned how to be a leader and role model by being a faculty assistant during my time dancing. I was given an amazing opportunity to instruct classes which allowed me to continue to teach the skills that Tap 'n Arts taught me. I was able to advance

Seeing the studio from both the staff and family side this studio genuinely cares about its students, staff, and families. The teachers know their students beyond simply teaching them a few steps. They work with the parents to ensure that the children are moving up levels at the right time. Starting from age two through their senior year of high school, dancers have the opportunity to excel in their chosen forms of dance.
In terms of the recital, having two separate shows allows for a more relaxed show for the younger dancers and doesn't force a 2 or 3 year old to have to sit through a 3 hour

Hmm..... I'm not really sure what the previous reviewer is talking about. Lights going off and on?? Yep, they sure did, before the show started to let everyone know it would start within a few minutes (by the way, that's normal). The morning show is for the youngest dancers, obviously they don't know a lot of different dance moves because they are too young (2-7) to be able to do them, as a parent I understand that......I guess I just assumed that everyone else would understand that also.

I first heard about this Dance Studio when my (now) husband took me to his daughter and niece's recital. It was moving. So moving, that I couldn't wait to sign my 6 year old up. She is now in her 3rd year of dance with a new dance added each year. She's had multiple teachers and faculty assistants. The time, professionalism and expertise of those that teach and assist with this program has proved to make for a wonderful experience and ultimately, a phenomenal recital at the end of the year. This program helps our children with confidence, exercise, communication and even relaxation as well as making
