The Laird, Melbourne, is one of Australia's longest running gay-owned and operated venues. Since its humble beginnings in 1980, The Laird is now well recognised throughout the gay community, both local and international and like its 'sister-venues' Club 80 and The Peel, remains a staple of the local scene.
In 1998 The Laird and Club 80 were granted 'Male-only' status by the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) in deference to their history and service to the gay community. While we still maintain this status, a few times a year we open the doors to the community for events such as Vic Leather Open Day (May), Men on Men Open Day (June) and Northside Bizarre (October).

Services
All rooms are situated upstairs from the bar and have the basics for the traveler: comfortable queen sized beds, USB charging ports, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, TV with 24 hour gay adult channel. Our 3 Standard Rooms are fully private, with seperate shared shower and toilet facilities. Our 3 Ensuite Rooms are fully private and include an adjoining ensuite bathroom and toilet.
Spit N Polish is possibly one of the longest running weekly leather and fetish nights in the world. Our strict dress code ensures an open & comfortable environment for those passionate about their gear. Add dark and sexy beats, our resident boot blacks and the occasional demo and you've got a great cruisy atmosphere.
VICE is where men of leather, rubber and uniform come together, whether you're cruising or just after a social hang out with like-minded men. It all kicks off from 9pm in DADDY'S BAR with boot blacks, demos, performances, and sweaty action with a dirty soundtrack by DJ Nick Shepherd and guests. Dress code is encouraged but not enforced.
Code Black is Australia's only true leather party. Held in February and August, the party showcases the Lairda's long-standing connection with Melbournea's leather community. Nearly a decade later, Code Black is still dedicated to delivering a unique clubbing experience with a strict dress code, ensuring youa're partying with 300 sweaty and happy leather men.

Hey congratulations to all at the Laird for handling Covid safety and looking after patrons with such friendly ease. It was even no problem waiting to go in. Chatted to some very nice friends we just met in the lovely Steven and his cuddly friend. Thanks for a great night. Welcome back :-))

Fantastic venue with skilled and friendly staff and great drinks selection! Great for regulars and new comers alike, with a welcoming atmosphere that is difficult to find anywhere else in the world. There is always something happening, so make sure you check their website so you know what’s on before you go or surprise yourself with an unexpected evening out!
