For your initial appointment with Dr David Joseph - please bring relevant tests or scans with you and arrive 10 minutes before your consult time. Very often during the course of your evaluation or treatment for your condition your doctor will require CT Scans or other imaging studies to determine the cause of a problem or to evaluate your progress.
The hospital will advise you of your admission time and fasting instructions after 4.30pm the day prior to your surgery. AM Surgery: Nothing to eat or drink (not even water) from midnight the night before your surgery. You may take your usual medications (not diabetic or blood-thinning medications) at 6am with a sip of water and this will not affect your fasting time.
Pre-Op instructions will be provided by Dr Joseph and the hospital where you will be having your procedure. General details can be found on Dr Joseph's website. Any medications that you are currently taking should be discussed with Dr Joseph prior to your surgery. Both of these groups of drugs affect the ability of your blood to clot and thus increase the risk of bleeding during and after your operation.
The Liver makes bile and excretes it into a long tube (the bile duct) that joins the first part of the bowel. Bile is a salty solution that helps to make fats that we eat dissolve in water (so that we can absorb them). When there is no fat in the gut, the bile is stored in the Gallbladder. When we eat fat, a chemical messenger makes the Gallbladder contract, squeezing bile into the gut.

Last year, I met someone who had successfully undergone a sleeve gastrectomy with great weight loss outcomes. Not surprisingly, she highly recommended both the procedure and the surgeon, Dr David Joseph. It was only a few weeks later that I met Dr Joseph for the first time and I can honestly say he was unlike any specialist I've encountered before. He is very calm, patient, reassuring, knowledgeable and even amusing. It was a relaxed encounter and I came away with all the information I needed to make an informed decision.
Almost a year later, I can attest to successful surgery and consistently

Even before seeing the specialist I got bitter experience with the receptionist - Rachael. I had question regarding health fund coverage & surgorey dates etc - which she couldn't answer patiently & sympathetically to the patient who is suffering. Instead she was shouting in her answers. Don't know how she would be treating elderly who might be ignorant of the medical process & claiming funds etc.
DO NOT risk- if service prior surgorey is like that, what to expect after surgery?? Very Poor customer service being a medical receptionist. Go get some compassion.
