Musculoskeletal Therapy (MST) is a hands on therapy working holistically to identify, treat and manage musculoskeletal pain or injury in any region of the body. Thorough physical examination including functional and neurological testing establish the cause of the pain and dysfunction enabling a comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation plan which address that cause, not simply relieve symptoms.
Musculoskeletal Therapists employ a range of techniques such as joint and neural mobilizations, dry needling, muscle energy technique and soft tissue release to provide greater range of movement and reduction of pain more efficiently than experienced through traditional massage therapy. Shannon White holds her Bachelor of Musculoskeletal Therapy and Diploma of Remedial Massage with over 15 years experience in the health and wellbeing industry.

This simple lower back stretch is perfect for reducing that stiff, achey feeling in those who sit for the majority of their day, whether it be driving or in the office. You can hold this position for anywhere from 30 seconds up to two minutes. The Pectoralis Minor is a muscle of the chest which is generally shortened in those with rounded shoulders and poor posture.
These glute activations are vital for improving lumbopelvic stability to reduce lower back pain. They are best used prior to squatting/any lower body exercises or running. Lower trap activations are essential in postural re-training. Those with shoulder or scapular stabilisation issues will find this most beneficial as its activation enables the correct muscular activation pathways during exercise.

Miracle worker! I was referred to Shannon by Dan - the trainer who shares the clinic space. His words were, ‘go see Shannon, she’ll sort you out, I see her and am fixed straight after.’ To be honest, I expected to get a good massage with maybe a little bit of relief, but she made all my hip and leg pain disappear! I actually couldn’t believe it! I’ve never found a clinician who can rid me of my pain like Shannon, it’s not always an enjoyable (relaxing) experience - she gets stuck in, but ensures you’re comfortable at all times and changes the pressure if needed. I've been seeing Shannon casually for a few years now and I thought I should right a review to help those of you out there looking for a good therapist to see on the regular. Firstly, she is very experienced and you can tell by how she feels her way straight to the muscles that I feel need the most work. Shannon is very professional, listens to my concerns and has given me some good advice on muscle activation prior to working out etc. She also uses every second of my appointment, making sure I get the most out it, focusing on those areas that need the most work. Secondly, I've also had a relaxation

I highly recommend Shannon as she is experienced, knowledgeable and effective. She will spend the time explaining the location and cause of the issue and will give you stretches to do at home to prevent recurrence. She has treated me for a few issues, including not being able to turn my head from back/neck problems from a stressful sedentary job, and minor sporting injuries including knee and hip problems. All issues have been resolved in 1 session each and have not returned. She also has HICAPS so if you have private health cover it will be cheaper.

Shannon is an incredible therapist who has an innate knack for knowing exactly what's going on in my body and treating it better than anyone else I've seen. She also takes the time to explain this to me and tell me how I can properly look after myself, which I really appreciate! Her holistic approach to the human body and health means I feel looked after - plus she's really approachable and funny!

Words can't describe how amazing Shannon is at her job. I have had left shoulder problems for over 4 years i couldn't lay on it and I couldn't raise my arm above my head without being in tears most days. I had tried so many other people for treatments which was only giving me relief for 3 days. A friend recommended Shannon to and i thought why not give another person a go to see if all could fix my problem. It turned out awesome Shannon is actually helping my shoulder we are getting about 3 weeks between treatments and i can lay on it for short periods of time. I actually feel like with more treatments

I have had knee and back pain for years, I have tried numerous forms of treatments and nothing seemed to help. When I moved to Brisbane I started getting regular treatments and have never felt this great. Shannon takes a look at what causes the treatment rather then relieving the pain temporarily. This is what makes her different from the rest. Thanks Shan you are amazing ! ♥
