All our remedial massage therapists have a Diploma of Remedial Massage as a minimum qualification. This means our therapists are formally and professionally qualified to provide multiple styles of massage. It also ensures that you can claim (on remedial massages only) a rebate from your health fund.

We tailor every massage to the individual to meet their specific needs on the day, and sometimes that means utilising more than one style or technique during a massage. We also recognise that every person is individual, and your needs may very well be different from the person before you - and the person after you.

When it comes to massage - in very basic terms, all massage techniques originate from the Swedish relaxation techniques taught in every massage course, wherever you learn it. Swedish is the cornerstone of massage techniques. When you study a Diploma (or higher level) of massage therapy, you are taught to assess your client before and after every treatment so that you can gauge the benefit of your treatment for their complaint.
Trigger points are specific spots in muscle tissue that can feel like a knot in the muscle fibres. They are usually very tender and sensitive to touch and are usually accompanied by recognised pain referral patterns.

They can manifest for several reasons like injury, stress, illness, nutritional deficiencies, changes in activity and sustained poor postures, and if left untreated they can multiply or spread to surrounding muscle tissue and/or give rise to reasonable movement restriction.
Hands from Heaven have partnered with Alison from Clear Skies Yoga to promote the beneficial connection between Remedial massage and Yoga. Stretching is widely recognised as a great aspect of Self Care between your Remedial Massage Treatments, but so many people can't find (or don't make) the time to stretch.
Get a pregnancy massage by a qualified Brisbane massage therapist who has experienced pregnancy. Pregnancy massage (also known as a prenatal massage) is the term given to treatments that are tailored specifically to the pregnant client. Throughout pregnancy the body undergoes immense change in order to support the growing foetus and prepare for birth.
The lymphatic system in the body is a network of vessels and nodes that help maintain balance of tissues and the blood, removing toxins, bacteria, excess proteins, and hormones from the body. When the lymphatic system is not functioning correctly (often after specific types of surgery), a manual lymphatic drainage massage (MLD) can assist your body to move excess fluid to the venous system where it can be excreted naturally.

I've seen Katia at the wolfdale location for the first time and I had a great session. I'll definitely be seeing her again soon. By far one of the best sessions I've had.
