Welcome to Collaroy Plateau Community Kindergarten - your local Community Based Kindergarten/Preschool. Collaroy Plateau Community Kindergarten is located in Collaroy Plateau on Sydney's beautiful Northern Beaches. At the time of European settlement the Northern Beaches was the traditional home of the First Nations people.
We acknowledge and respect the values and customs of the First Nations people who are the traditional custodians of this land whereupon Collaroy Plateau Community Kindergarten is situated. We pay our respects to the elders both past and present and welcome all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people to our Preschool.

Services
Children attend the year before they are eligible to go to school. Some children do come for 2 years if they are born in Feb-July and the family feels the children would benefit from another year at preschool. Priority will be given to children who must go to school the following year. Our funding agreement with Department of Education requires us to firstly offer spots to those children eligible to go to school the following year.
Collaroy Plateau Community Kindergarten acknowledges that we are located on the land of the First Nations people, possibly the Gayamaygal clan. But because the people from this area were displaced and their culture hidden, their history has been lost.
We sincerely pay our respects to past, present and future elders and ancestors of the Gayamygal and continue to share our sorrow about such painful history and we pledge to stand together with respect and the common goal of protecting the land and all of her inhabitants.

Collaroy Plateau Community Kindergarten's centre philosophy has been developed to accommodate the cultural and social needs of our community. To ensure we meet these needs our teachers and educators provide a curriculum to support children's learning experiences, acquisition of skills, knowledge and values in all areas of their development.
When children become adults and parents themselves they often send their children to the same preschool they attended because they want their children to experience the fun, learning and preparation for life and school as they did.
Operating within the public school term, Community Based Preschools provide education through play, utilising the Early Years Learning Framework to incorporate learning outcomes for children that include literacy, numeracy, scientific reasoning and the skills children require to live a happy and successful life in today's society.CPCK relies on fee payments, funding from Department of Education and occasional fundraising to operate.

Collaroy Plateau Community Kindergarten aims to provide a meaningful child centred, play based curriculum that builds life skills, independence, confidence and resilience to support each child in achieving their potential and to make a smooth transition to school and society itself.

I adore this Kindy. Run by professionals who genuinely love their job and making an impact in their community from the bottom up! Classes are small, have appropriate structure and loads of play. The back yard is an absolute wonderland for children. I highly recommend CPCK. Our family has loved every minute of being a part of this kindergarten.

I would give this preschool 10 stars if I could. Fantastic program, fantastic playground. Dedicated teachers and you can tell they love their job. Love it how they have the same teachers and the same children in the class for the entire year. They really got to know my son. They prepared my son for school so well.

My daughter started at the beginning of the year after attending long day care, I have been blown away by how much she has learnt and also how much confidence she has gained in just 9 months. She loves coming and is always asking when she is going back when we are not there. The teachers have been so welcoming and genuinely caring. The centre has an amazing outdoor space and a great all round feel I would have no hesitation recommending Cpck to anyway looking for a wonderful Kindergarten

Both my sons have gone through CPCK (the youngest will go to school in 2017) - I cannot recommend it highly enough for the quality of the teachers, the outside space and the environmental/community spirit. My boys have both benefitted hugely from the caring and nurturing nature of the kindy and are ready for school. Caroline, Collaroy Plateau

My daughter is in her 2nd year of preschool at CPCK and I cannot rate the preschool or the educators highly enough.
The teachers are so dedicated to developing the interests and talents of all of the children. I have seen my daughter's confidence and creativity blossom. She has been able to teach me about the symbology used in aboriginal artwork,… the painting techniques of Jackson Pollock, and explain to me the rules and social skills required in so many games, both gross and fine motor.
The community aspect of the preschool has been amazing. My toddler son does not even attend the kindy
