Passing Clouds has been making wine for the people who drink it since 1974. Our wines are elegant and pure, with the focus on allowing them to express a sense of place and time. Being a member of the Passing Clouds Wine Allocation Program ensures your access to our often hard to find wines as well as giving you a host of members-only privileges.
Established in 1974 Passing Clouds has been making wines of longevity and grace for close to half a century. Passing Clouds is fortunate to operate in both the Macedon Ranges and Bendigo. Our Estate vineyard is in Macedon and is the source of our premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay but we also work with four other growers, 3 in Bendigo and one in Port Philip, just outside the township of Kilmore.

Like all traditional cultures; stories being passed down from generation to generation are imperative. The wine culture thrives on this and it is with great pride that Cameron Leith has been part of the winemaking at Passing Clouds since the time he could walk. He has followed in his Father's footsteps, to uphold the specific style of Passing Clouds that became available to the public in 1980.
We're not a big volume winery. We've never aspired to be and most likely never will be. We make small amounts of wine each year with a focus on producing wine that expresses a sense of place and time. Access to new release wines 2-3 months prior to the general public - one case is shipped in the middle of the year and one at the end of year.
Nestled in the gorgeous village of Musk, join us at our Cellar Door to taste through the range while taking in superb views of the vineyard and surrounding landscape. For the Summer months, on a Saturday and Sunday we have hamper packs and take away bottles of wine available from our Caravan. Purchase and find a lovely shady spot to sit and enjoy the surroundings.
Graeme Leith is one of those rugged individuals who were prepared to put everything on the line for a gamble: to grow grapes, to make the best wine they could, and then sell it in sufficient quantities to make a living. He'd first expressed some interest in the process of fermentation at the age of seven or eight which saw him sent home from Sunday school.
Quite traditional winemaking techniques are typically employed. We are a small winery, so nearly everything can be (and is) done by hand. Open fermenters are used to ferment reds. The largest of which is two tonne, most are 1.5 with very large surface areas, increasing the juice contact with the skins.

Entered the dining area and sat by the window only to be accompanied by several flies right by our table. Service was poor, our waitress was unenthusiastic and inattentive. The waitress next to our table was full of life and energy. Food was mediocre and our chicken main was overbearingly salty. After reading some reviews, had high hopes but got let down

A big thank you to Tanya for accomodating our group without a booking. She was absolutely friendly and knowledgeable on the wine production and took her time to guide us through the journey.
We tasted some amazing wines and bought a few bottles home.
We also enjoyed meeting the cute doggos and sheep roaming around the vineyard.

Cute winery set on a lovely hill with a little pond out the back which is beautiful. The tasting is quite limited, only 4 set wines in each tasting pack ($10pp standard, $15pp premium) - we did enjoy one or two though not all were to our taste. I personally prefer a tasting that is more catered to what you like, but with only a small amount of wines, it's understandable that this is not offered. Worth a visit if you're in the area

Staff seemed uninterested. Had to ask for water. Got one glass half filled. The cheese and meat platter for $25 turned out to be a box of some awful Brie , a couple of slices of salami and prosciutto , one tomato and three cornichons, served with soft crackers and about 4 walnuts. It is the worst cellar door I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to a few. I Sense a couple of people in the wrong profession run this place. Next trip to Daylesford I’ll avoid

This is a very modern looking cellar door with sleek timber lines. Our cellar door host was friendly and engaging and gave us a very good rundown on the seven wines that we tasted being two chardonnays, a cabernet shiraz, a cabernet sauvignon, a shiraz and two pinot noirs. The grapes were both locally grown and from the winery's vineyards in Bendigo. We particularly enjoyed the Estate Pinot Noir and the Estate Chardonnay. There was a tasting fee that was refundable upon the purchase of a bottle of wine.
