Cygnet is the name of a young swan - The clinic adopted this name as a reflection of the Swan area where our main office is located. Medicare based referrals cover the majority of our fees.

Clinical psychologists are experts in mental health. They have undertaken highly specialised training in the diagnosis and psychological treatment of mental, behavioural and emotional disorders. Clinical psychology is a science-based profession which integrates theory and clinical practice to understand, prevent, and relieve psychologically based distress or dysfunction.
Psychiatrists are medical doctors who are experts in mental health. They specialise in diagnosing and treating people with mental illness. Psychiatrists have a deep understanding of physical and mental health - and how they affect each other. Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery. This is the degree in Australia that is required to become a Doctor.
Although a referral is not required to see a Clinical Psychologist, the majority of our patients are referred through the Medicare Better Access system which covers the majority of the costs. General Practitioners (GPs) are required to formulate a Mental Health Care Plan. Psychiatrists are required to have a referral from a GP.
Cygnet has a dedicated relationship with Universities to offer Masters and PhD (Clinical) students a practicum. These students are in their final stages of the degree prior to commencing as a Clinical Psychologist Registrar. This means that the students on practicum are in their 6th year of study and have already completed intensive supervised practicums at other services.

Needed an emergency appointment for antibiotics for an infected tooth, it would take all of 10 seconds to see the swelling and issues, likely another minute to write a prescription. I was told i'd have to wait a week for this which could be dangerous to my health. Unable to travel to other options. Do not use if you actually have an issue.
