Dr Wesley Wong holds dual Dentistry and Pharmacy degrees from the University of Sydney and has also completed his periodontics specialty training at University of Sydney. He provides all aspects of periodontics and surgical implant therapy. Wesley has been involved in the teaching and clinical supervision of dental students at University of Sydney and Griffith University.
Periodontics is the field of dentistry that treats disease affecting the structures surrounding a tooth, instead of the tooth itself. The structures that surround your teeth are: gum, periodontal ligaments and alveolar bone. Periodontal disease refers to the bacterial infection that can affect these surrounding structures.
A dental implant has become increasingly popular for the replacement of lost teeth, or as a treatment alternative for teeth with poor prognosis. They can be used to replace a single tooth, multiple teeth, or to provide support to full or partial dentures. When a patient does opt in to get artificial teeth, one of the primary factors that goes into decision making is the cost.
Crown lengthening is a surgical procedure where the gum tissue and/or bone surrounding the teeth are partially removed to expose more of the tooth structure. 1) Where a tooth needs a crown (or a filling), but the tooth is too short or not exposed enough for the placement of the crown/filling. During this procedure the periodontist will expose more of the tooth by removing gum and/or bone surrounding the tooth.
Hard Tissue Augmentation and Soft Tissue Augmentation are dental procedures that correct soft tissue and hard tissue defects in patients. Often, both these corrections are needed to correct defects that may be due to a variety of issues that may or may not include periodontal infestations, localised trauma and apparent loss of teeth.

After years of gum deterioration and increasingly unstable teeth I was referred to Precision Periodontics and treated by Dr Mellati. I was impressed with the professionalism and proficiency of the practice and Dr Mellati's expertise and clear and friendly advice. The treatment has been very successful so far and I am grateful that my dental issues have been so effectively addressed.

I grab at this opportunity to thank Dr Mellati and his lovely team for their paramount work at Precision Periodontics. There you will find a mixture of friendly and professional environment with a great level of health care. I recently had a dental implant done by Dr Mellati and I cannot appreciate enough for the great level of care I received. Dr Mellati spends enough time explaining the procedures as you go and he patiently answers all questions you may have. He makes sure you are well looked after during and following the procedure as he will be accessible at any time even after office hours

My dentist recommended Precision Periodontics to me for gum implant surgery. Dr Mellati performed the surgery and I was very happy with my treatment, from the initial consultation to the post operative follow up. Excellent service at this practice. From the receptionist Goly to Dr. Ehsan Mellati everyone was very caring and friendly. I had 2 implants, and while these procedures cannot be completely pain free, I can say that the pain levels were minimal and I am very happy with the implants. I would highly recommend Dr. Mellati and Precision Periodontics to anyone requiring his services.
