It operated from a small leased workshop in Regency Park, close to the current premises. The company's main purpose was to provide the South Australian road transport industry with an alternative workshop for the professional fitting out of prime movers and chassis modifications. It also held the South Australian franchise for a prominent Victorian body builder.
In addition to our manufacturing capabilities, Barry Stoodley Pty Ltd offers a wide range of services to the transport and associated industries. Barry Stoodley Pty Ltd is the South Australian agent for the David Brown Powauto range of hydraulic equipment. This means that we have access to the best hydraulic equipment on the market, and the experience to install it.
Aluweld aluminium bullbars and bumper bars are manufactured in house to suit a wide range of heavy vehicles. With the arrival of ADR84, all new heavy vehicles must now be fitted with a compliant Front Underrun Protection Device. We are constantly evolving our list of FUPS bullbars to keep pace with new models.
Not every truck is the same; similarly, not every application is the same. As a result, rigid tipper design can vary wildly - from small steel tipper bodies for general cartage to large capacity aluminium bodies for landscape supplies or sawdust; from heavy duty trays to water tanks for road works or fire-field support.
Long considered to be the most efficient and accessible trailer combination on the road, B-Doubles can be produced in a range of configurations. Each configuration has its particular benefits that make it more or less suitable for a given application. In addition to selecting the most appropriate combination, there are a host of dimensions and internal axle spacings, and weight distribution to consider.
