Vanessa is the founder and clinical director of The Willow Clinic, which is within The Lotus Centre, Brookvale. Treatment from a cranial osteopath may be suitable for a wide range of patients and for many different complaints. Read below to see if it could be suitable for you. Although the term Cranial Osteopathy suggests treatment exclusively on the head and the sacrum, this gentle, precise and rhythmic approach to osteopathy can be applied everywhere in the body.
The initial consultation will take up to an hour. This is due to your osteopath taking a thorough case history, asking you questions about your presenting complaint, your health, both past and present and your medical history. In most cases, treatment will be administered following the case history and examination.
Osteopathy was founded by Andrew Taylor Still during the mid 1800s, in the mid-west of America. Still considered health practices of the day to be harmful and ineffective in treating disease and devoted thirty years to trying to find an alternative method to orthodox medicine.
His solution was simple and based upon the belief that if the body structure is correctly aligned and functioning normally, along with a good blood and nerve supply, the body's ability to heal itself will be restored. He explored different ways of treating patients who suffered with a number of problems, by assessing abnormal function or mal-alignment of their framework.

Finding the right treatment for your young loved ones is an important decision. Osteopathy is considered to be a treatment and at The Willow Clinic we use a light and non-manipulative approach, particularly suited to treating newborns, toddlers and infants. This approach is called cranial osteopathy and you should read on if you are considering using a cranial osteopath for babies and children.

After completing my own 200hrs YTT, I actually began to lose my passion and faith for the yoga industry. I hadn't stepped on my mat properly until I visited Sal's class yesterday. (I was recommended by a friend to go) over the past month since my YTT I was resisting my mat.
But thankfully to Sal, she has bought back my spark that was beginning to disintegrate. The whole time from when I walked in the hall, to meeting Sal, to my mat, to during my class, until the very end of walking out, I felt so welcomed and at home. Sal brings herself to the class, she's true, authentic, has a little giggle

I have been seeing Sal since I was about 8 and I’m now 20. Sal is the loveliest person, and has the most amazing energy. I always look forward to seeing her and my hour with her, as I always leave the tranquility of her treatment room feeling 10x better than when I went in. Seeing her as I’ve grown up has made me feel so comfortable in just being me and I know that it’s because of her that I’ve become so in tune with myself, and able to manage the problems that have come my way. She always helps me deal with things in a way that doesn’t compromise my sense of self and is always, always

Sal has created an amazing space at The Willow Clinic, I met her 3 years ago for treatment for post natal depression and she has changed my life. She is warm, welcoming, so humble, amazingly gifted but so down to earth. I see her for treatments but also attend her meditation group and yoga, all of which I cannot recommend highly enough. Her outlook on life is infectious, I feel so privileged to have met her and to share space with her in the fabulous groups. She has also treated my son who has learning and language difficulties and the time and patience she had with him was beautiful to witness

Sal is the most amazing therapist and healer and works from a beautiful, peaceful place. It is such a comfort to know that whatever issue I’m facing- physical or emotional- I am not only going to leave her treatment room feeling so much better, but am going to have the tools to go away and help myself too, taking responsibility for my own healing journey.
Sal is so knowledgeable and also works intuitively, getting right to the root of the problem. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

Sal welcomed me into her meditation group over a year and a half ago and I take great comfort and joy from being able to join in the sacred space that she has created. It is a testament to her warmth, openness, spirituality and constantly varied meditations that many of the group have been going for over 18 years! No meditation is ever the same but always profound and has meaning and significance for each of us on various levels.
Sal is also very grounded so everything she does is with humour and grace so you do not feel intimidated by her enormous experience and natural ability.
I feel honoured

Meeting Sal has changed my life. I now genuinely schedule my work and other commitments around being able to regularly attend sessions with her. I make seeing her a priority. She is remarkably down to earth, humble and approachable despite being gifted and knowledgeable in all areas of holistic healing and spirituality. It's been over four years since I first met her but her warm welcome is still extended to me, even now, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her services and support to anyone and everyone (as I regularly do).
