Our Centre is run on a "not for profit" basis because "children are too precious for profit". A committee together with the Director manages our Centre. Our Program is based on the Early Years Learning Framework representing current theory and practice in early childhood education. Our program builds on children's strengths and interests in a play based learning program.
We are committed to achieving a high quality care and learning environment which is achieved by employing highly trained staff and higher staff-child ratios. Our Centre has achieved an overall rating of 'Exceeding National Quality Standards' from the Department of Education and Communities. Our Centre operates from Monday to Friday between the hours of 7.30am and 6.00pm, 50 weeks of the year.

We believe children come to our centre with a desire for learning and are capable, strong and individual. Through building strong relationships with families we promote a strong sense of community for young children that promotes their learning. Learning environments are constructed with thought and beauty in mind, this supports learning in all areas.
Our centre has 3 rooms, Rainbow room (6 weeks to 2 years), Leprechaun room (2 to 3 year olds) and the Preschool room (3 to 5 year olds). At Shamrock Hill we provide morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea and a late afternoon snack if needed. We have a trained chef who prepares delicious, healthy meals which meet the new caring for children guidelines.
The team of educators in the Rainbow room is lead by two university trained early childhood teachers. We have purposefully maintained the group size to a maximum of 10 babies per day. Our intentions here are to maximize quality interactions and learning between educators and babies.
