Tazio
Established in 2005, we were among the first of the new school restaurants in Flinders Lane. Throughout the years our chefs have focused on a contemporary Australian interpretation of rustic Italian cuisine. 2nd generation Italian-Australian comfort food if you will; Italian enough for nonna and Australian enough for multicultural Melbourne.

The venue itself is located in a historic 3 level warehouse which was the former site of Melbourne CBD's RSL, dating back to the 1920's. The address also happens to be the start of the Duckboard Place & AC/DC lane graffiti murals loop. With one of the largest footprints in Melbourne, we pride ourselves on offering lower density seating arrangements that's conducive to both business and more intimate conversation.
Services
Located on the corner of Duckboard Place and Flinders Lane, Tazio restaurant specialises in contemporary Italian-Australian cuisine with tasty Italian style pizzas. The pizza menu is vast, encompassing the most well-known classics such as the Margherita pizza as well as the ever-popular Veneto, a mix of crispy pancetta, roasted peppers and goat's cheese on our Napoli style base.
Double Belvedere vodka and 1:4 Cinzano Bianco extra dry vermouth slightly stirred and finished with three XL Italian Cerignola olives. Vodka, Kahlua, Licor 43 Vanilla shaken vigorously with freshly extracted shot of espresso. Frangelico, Baileys & cream (or skinny milk) shaken with a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar dusting.
Located in the centre of Melbourne's thriving food and wine scene along Flinders Lane, we arguably serve best takeway in Melbourne - choose anything from appetisers, mains, pizza, and pasta to desserts. If you struggle to find a gluten-free takeaway in Melbourne, then Tazio is perfect for you. The majority of items on our menu can be altered to accommodate a gluten-free diet, including the pizzas and pasta dishes.
We're very much in tune with how important ambiance is for dining. As a multi-level restaurant, a key element of what we do is putting the right people in the right space. Our aim is to provide the most comfortable setting that matches individual needs. Always buzzing since opening in 2005 our main dining room on Flinders Lane offers the premier Tazio dining experience of contemporary Italian-Australian cuisine.
A la carte is available for groups up to 24 guests at selected times when entrees or appetisers are preordered. For times when "you just wanna go out for dinner" without the legwork for a group between 7 to 24, we do offer a la cart dining for groups larger than what most restaurants can handle. Groups of 6 or less are welcome to dine as part of the general restaurant without any specific conditions.

Very good with catering for allergies and helping with drink selection. Great atmosphere. The gluten free pizza base was so delicious and the vegan cheese they use melts like real cheese

The food was good and loved it. They have options for vegetarian. Just that, if they had a better seating as I was happy to wait. They could have accommodated us in a better place.

Had lunch and the vegetarian croquettes and arancini were delicious. The spinach orrichette was also really nice and a good size serving. Husband had calamari and seafood pasta. He loved the pasta but calamari not as much. Couple we were with had meatballs, chicken and veal and said nice too. Desserts looked delicious but couldn't fit in!! Coffees (soy latte, decaf almond latte and macciatto) also good. Interesting old building and wonder what it was before restaurant. Seating comfortable and tables not too close together, unlike some other restaurants where you can share your neighbours seat!

We went to a function here with share plates. Lots of food but my favourites were the Gorgonzola gnocchi and the spanner crab risotto. Just excellent food, wine and service

Shout out to the Tazio team who accomodated our late night request last Friday evening after attending a show at the Regent Theatre. We were able to reserve a table late and they kept the kitchen open for delicious food. Many thanks for the great service, food and providing that next level attention to detail, will certainly return again.

Came down here for dinner with my husband, The atmosphere and setup inside is amazing.
Staff are extremely helpful and go the extra mile to make sure everything is to your liking.
The pizza's we had were really delicious however could do with a little less grease but other than that the taste was marvellous.
All in all its a beautiful restaurant with great customer service and great food
Definetly recommend

I came here with colleagues whilst staying in Melbourne. Our hotel was nearby so the location was a huge bonus. We were all extremely pleased with our dinner here. There were some good choices on the menu, which were extremely delicious, and we were all satisfied. The prices were slightly better than other local options as well. There was a lively atmosphere in this very spacious restaurant. I'd definitely come back.

Absolutely fantastic service, super friendly, helpful and attentive. So many pizzas on offer and the lunch special is excellent. Would love to give five stars, but my pizza was a little greasy. Crust and ingredients were good though and I'd like to go back for a different option. They also split bills, which is very handy. The ambience is nice too.

Food was average. Nice staff however playing punk rock through the PA while trying to eat our dinner suggests a sense of simple laziness from the staff.

My wife and I found this place because it was listed as an option for a dining gift card that we had. I think Tazio is a very atmospheric venue with very distinct menu items. What I mean by this is that the food seems fresh, flavorsom and in many ways - unique to this restaurant. The team serving were incredibly friendly and genuine too. I stand my by 5-star rating with the only criticism that perhaps the pizza topping should extend further to the edges of the crusts - even still, it was a "boss" pizza. Thanks Tazio for a great night.

Had a really fun business lunch at this place, just the right atmosphere between casual and formal. Staff are super friendly and professional, they run a well-organised business here. The menu is great, and the two dishes we tried were perfect. Something for everyone here. Definitely will be returning.

Servers were not too enthusiastic though
Closes at 11 pm
We got undercharged!!

We had the tiny caprese salad 8
The serrano / artichoke / arugula pizza 22
The arugula / Parmesan side salad 7
1 glass of wine , 1 beer and 2 bacardi for 63.80 si I guess that's a good value but honestly with so many food choices in this city , go elsewhere for food come here for a drink.

Casual Italian dining. This was our last meal in Melbourne so we did the full meal, Italian style. Started with some antipasto followed up with a pasta with meatballs and a anchovy pizza. All 3 were very delicious. For my main, I had the cotoletta which was a breaded veal. I just wanted the veal so I tore off the breading and had me some veal steak. The evening was capped with a tiramisu dessert. Our server was very attentive and friendly and I would recommend coming here again.

The veneto pizza with crispy prosciutto and goat cheese is a highlight. The crust is not quite italian style but it is thin and crispy nonetheless. At 18 AUD, its relatively cheap by australian standards. The decor and service are fine.

It sucks when a side of spinach and the Stella Artois is your best showing. For bread we had the white toast sandwich bread. :(. The mozzarella pizza was below average as was the seafood linguine. The service was excellent though and that's the 3 points. Good was below average. Pass!

We went here for a snack and a drink early on a Saturday evening. The place was heavily booked, but we managed to get a table without a reservation.
The good menu looked ok, but was not anything special. We had a nice pizza to share with our drinks.
The drinks menu was very standard and without inspiration.
I'm not certain why they were so busy.
We are not planning to return here again with so many better options in the CBD.

Another of Melbourne's long standing institutions, that I had forgotten about and
lay in the back of my mind somewhere. I have been here years ago, though don't remember too much from the experience. The layout is still essentially the same,
and the pizza's are still bloody great. I had both the Pancetta and red peppers and pork meatball varieties on my recent visits, but I'm sure there are great things to come. Beers are pretty okay, Though I only glanced over them, and I think that the wine list looked good. In short Flipping Brill pizza; tastes fantastic, and lots of
yummy

During my visit to Melbourne, Tazio was conveniently across the road from my apartment and I therefore had the opportunity to enjoy their amazing food, drink and service.

It's not always you arrive at a restaurant in winter and you're instantly directed to an alfresco table with comforting heating and exceptional service.

My girlfriend and I ordered drinks followed by Garlic Pizza and Arancini for an afternoon appetiser. One word can describe the food, drink and the atmosphere - perfect.

As we were on our way home hours later, we dropped in yet again and the service was still perfect

After walking past this place on the way home from work most days I finally popped in for lunch after hearing they make a mean pizza. The fact that this place was a full house at lunch time on a Friday proves how great Tazio is. Large tables inside & out cater for big groups. The beer list is huge (local & import), but more importantly the pizza is great and very authentic. It is now my favourite pizzeria at the top-end of town.
