Services
The Practice has been providing excellent physiotherapy care in the Chermside area for over 30 years being owned previously by Cindy Bourke, and for the past 15 years by Cathy Stewart. The focus of the practice is on providing a personal one-on-one approach with effective hands-on assessment and treatment of painful musculoskeletal conditions.
The story or 'history' of the complaint is a window into how the condition developed in the first place, and often reveals more valuable information on the nature of the problem and how best to manage it than the objective examination. The story prepares the way for the Objective examination to proceed.
Good advice and treatment from a physiotherapist can save a lot of time and promote quicker healing, getting you back to work or sport sooner. It can also prevent further aggravation of the injury by making sure you are doing all the right things and none of the wrong things for your complaint. For instance, ice or cold packs are best used when pain or injury first appear.
Have you ever recognized a friend or someone you know while they were still a long way off, or from behind? It is not their face that you see, but their posture and body movements that you recognize. It is the way they move and hold themselves. Each of us has distinct patterns of movement and habitual postures that others can identify, even from a distance.
Appointments may be made by phoning the Practice on 07- 33505455. Phone calls outside these hours may still be answered as the phone line is re-directed into my mobile phone. No referral is necessary for Private patients. Most patients who attend this Practice have been referred through "word of mouth" by previous clients.

Cathy is one of the most amazing physiotherapist I've ever been to and yes I've been to a few! I've been going to her for my back issues for the last 10 years, she's helped me recover from a protruding disc injury not once but twice! Her holistic way of healing through massage, stretching and exercise has kept me going for years. Just a couple of weeks ago in one of our sessions whilst Cathy was doing her usual diagnosis and massage therapy we talked about my overall wellbeing, discussed Shakespeare all at the same time. Where else will you find such a combination of relaxation!! I would certainly

I have only just recently discovered Cathy and I would have to say she is the best physio I have ever been to.
Cathy was able to diagnose the problem, treat the knee with ultra sound (which reduces swelling almost immediately) and then work on the issue.
I have only been seeing Cathy for just over a week and the pain / swelling / injury in my knee is improving dramatically.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Cathy, she really is brilliant.

Cathy has been treating me for various aches and pains from hypermobility for more than 30years! Yes, I have followed Cathy all over Brisbane. Her fingers can feel the tiniest bit of tightness or spasm and her gentle treatment relieves pain in one session usually. Cathy knows how to diagnose the source of the pain and she doesn’t waste your money on unnecessary treatments. I would highly recommend Cathy as an expert to any fellow sufferers of hypermobile joints.

Over the years Cathy has helped me fix a number of niggling injuries (knee, elbow, achilles, etc) that have appeared. She spends a great deal of time becoming familiar with the injury and then remedying the problem. I have referred family and friends to her.
I would recommend Cathy to any one wanting a competent, professional and caring physiotherapist

I've been seeing Cathy for over 8 years now and I have to say that Cathy is by far the best clinician to help me manage and recover from my many sporting injuries, headaches, and various musculoskeletal issues. Cathy certainly knows her stuff and she has this amazing way of explaining things in a way that you can understand. She's very down to earth and is genuinely interested in your overall health and well-being. I would thoroughly recommend Cathy to anyone who wants to feel better, move better, and enjoy life more.
