Proprietor Bill Mougios, already an established figure in Brighton Le Sands with his two seafood restaurants, dreamt of creating a restaurant that was 'young at heart' and unseen before in Sydney. A place where young and old, singles, couples and families could enjoy without formality. A place where you could enjoy a simple sweet treat, coffee, toasted sandwich or indulge in one of our (soon to be famous) ice creams.
It's 'happening' atmosphere helped Bay Vista become one of Sydney's most loved and talked about places. With late night trading and full menu availability until closing, the many patrons (from all over Sydney and afar) were guaranteed satisfaction before going to bed, whether after a night out or finishing the 'late shifts' from work.

From sweet & savoury crepes, pancakes, waffles, cakes, classic desserts to our chocolate fountain & famous ice cream bowls, you will not be left for choice. Along with the standard caf drinks, coffee & hot chocolates we also serve light meals, NY style grilled sandwiches, cheesy waffle melts & baguettes.

The building is one of mossel bays' oldest buildings in town. The vintage look brought nostelgic feeling of the early 1900s. The time i stayed there it was pleasent and the view is to die for you have a view that is over the harbor and some part of the town almost like somthing out of a movie. The price was affordable.privacy is mucth respected and you get your own room key as well to the building thus you can come and go as it please you. I will post a picture of the view i had during my stay there

When you arrive there is a wait to be seated sign, we waited, waited, waited, made eye contact with staff, made eye contact with staff, made eye contact with staff then finally told take a seat anywhere.
Food and drinks Yummo.
Was taking photos of menu for a friend with a child who can not touch anything with gluten. They swiftly took the menu from me.
I ask what is gluten free told salted caramel only. Then another staff member came over I asked her the same question. Told differently brownie and fruit.
This child ends up in ER if in contact with gluten! I guess any in the same position

Holy moly the banana split was massive! But then again you're paying a whooping $18. Found it a bit ridiculous the cashier said I was not allowed to substitute an ice cream flavor, wait I'm paying almost $20 for ice cream and can't select the flavors I prefer. I found this a bit odd and annoying. I also ordered a simple 1 scoop chocolate ice cream. I didn't want it in cup, but just simply in a cone. Again I was not granted my request, cashier said that was "impossible". It was served to us in a small bowl with a mini cone on top. It's a bit different because

After spending the evening collecting shells at the beach across the street, dessert was a perfectly sweet end to the evening. I am not much of a sweet food kinda girl but I was told that you haven't had a good visit to Brighton-Le-Sands unless you visit this place. We walked in and the cafe was packed downstairs. We were escorted upstairs and were seated at a table. We ordered water right away. Looked through the extensive menu with all kinds of sugary goodness and decided on chocberry crepes (with strawberries, chocolate shavings and fountain chocolate ), coffee and ice cream. The service

Dont like it!!! They treat customers with absolute no respect... You cant live eat breath or sleep your way but their's. . They even confront you if there's a few stuff out of place and u didnt clean/ fix it before you went out like 7 o'clock in the morning . Explain you where late ect. They dont care their guesthouse their rules...
The cleaners dont clean your room " cause its a pigsty" but theres only a towel shoes and a few pieces of clothing out of place mayb a cup or 2 whatever the case..
Sooo why pay for cleaning services i would like their definition of a cleaner and i would like to see

With a menu, that almost looks and feels like a catalogue, one is spoilt for choices what to get.
The prices though steep, are well worth the portion sizes and the variety.
The staff is fun and the service is good

This place has been a growing up favourite !! Remember going here in my early teens when it was just a 1 storey cafe thaf had a starters, mains and a couple desserts haha, and loved the fact of the late closing times !!
Was more than pleased when they renovated the place to a 2 storey dessert cafe, only downfall was that they were shut for so long that it was onlg a rumour of yhat actually happening till they finally opened the doors !
Lost count how many times I've been here before and after the new look.
Love this place to bits, they got some of the best tasting and big sized portions

Well guys it's a great place to go for a dessert there is a great selection from your strawberry crepes to the great famous papas ricotta cheesecake,or great alcoholic icecream bowls,hard to choose right. But this place can get very noisy ,and if u get a little stool in the front of the store it's so uncomfortable. You also have no table service here u need to get up and order for ur self....and yes all orders come at different times even though u ordered together. Coffees always arrive Luke warm,so ask for a nice hot one.

Giving this place a second chance, I know exactly what I want. Expecting a better experience than last time, we ordered the Havana Club Ice Cream Bowl. Mango, macadamia and chocolate ice cream with fresh strawberries and banana, whipped cream, white chocolate sauce and some chocolate drops. It was definitely better than last time.
This time I took time to read the quirky quotes on the wall. Wish that everything else on their menu is as heavenly as the sundae I had.

These days, the fit out has received a phenomenal upgrade, as has the menu. For those with a sweet tooth, you'll be hard pressed narrowing down a choice!
The only downside is the price, it's on the pricier side for dessert and the total can escalate as quickly as your cholesterol levels. Maybe this has more to do with my sweet tooth and choosing too much on the menu

After a seafood lunch, we stopped in to bay vista for dessert, i thought the prices were fairly average but the desserts were above average on quality and portion size. I can highly recommend the sweet secret scroll. A large cinnamon scroll with maple syrup fresh banana and icecream, Service was fast and friendly, will definitely be back.

I've always heard good things about this place and always wanted to try. So tonight my Bay Vista virginity was broken. It was
Bloody good.
We had the blueberry waffles (it's cool how the same flavours can be interchanged between waffles and pancakes) and loved it. The waffles could've been more crunchy though, and it wasn't too sweet despite it's sugary appearance!
Absolutely amazing atmosphere and there was never an empty table for more than 1-3 minutes. We sat next to the food lift that takes food upstairs and it was damn hard not to take the food for your own consumption
