Services
Our location here in the heart of Perth means that we know the people of Perth; their challenges, their working conditions, their environment, their history and the resources available to them. In the course of a working day we typically see people from every occupational, cultural and social background and with every kind of presenting problem.
Our psychologists are trained, experienced, compassionate and empathic. Whatever problems you bring we will help you to sort things out and devise alternate ways of handling them. We see clients with a wide range of issues and will work with you to devise a treatment plan that will target the responses or behaviours you most want to change using effective strategies.
Clinical hypnotherapy is a psychotherapy counselling technique conducted by a psychologist that combines hypnosis with therapeutic intervention. During hypnosis the body and conscious mind are in a relaxed state, while the subconscious mind remains alert and receptive to suggestion. In this state, an individual suspends critical judgement and exercises selective thinking.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is a relatively short term, focused counselling approach, to the treatment of many types of emotional, behavioural and psychiatric problems. A collaborative and individualised program, CBT helps individuals to identify unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, and then to learn or relearn healthier skills and habits.
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a counselling approach that was originally designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories (Shapiro, 1989). Shapiro's (2001) Adaptive Information Processing Model posits that EMDR facilitates the accessing and processing of traumatic memories to bring these to an adaptive resolution.
