We are Ashgrove's Dentists! Dr Lou Waldie, Dr Sophia Frankcombe, Dr Beth Keir and Dr Kat Briggs all have a special connection to Ashgrove. Dr Lou grew up in Ashgrove and attended local schools. Dr Sophia and Dr Beth have worked in the Ashgrove area for a few years and are now Ashgrove locals. We love the community feel in Ashgrove, and strive to be part of this fantastic community.
We're passionate about prevention and creating positive, fun experiences from a young age. We believe that prevention is the key to maintaining a healthy mouth and body. We love to look after you and your family from the first ride in the chair, through the awkward braces years, and into adulthood and beyond.
Dr. Lou Waldie is passionate about excellent dentistry, where her patient's comfort is a priority. She graduated from The University of Queensland with first-class honours and was Vice President of the UQ Dental Association. Lou has been a practicing dentist in Ashgrove since 2008. She likes the personal interaction that dentistry brings and finds teeth very interesting, although she finds the person attached to the teeth far more fascinating!
Dr Sophia Frankcombe graduated from Griffith University after completing a Graduate Diploma of Dentistry on the Gold Coast, where she won numerous awards for academic excellence. Dr Sophia is a caring and compassionate clinician. She understands not everyone enjoys visiting the dentist and strives to make every visit as pleasant as possible.
We are often asked by patients if we are a 'Preferred Provider' or if we will ever become one. So we thought that it is a great time to openly discuss the reasons why we are not. Preferred Providers are not preferred by health funds as an acknowledgement of the quality of the dentist, but have a financial agreement between the dentist and the insurer enabling both parties to earn more money.

Once you visit here, you’ll never try another dentist. All the women, including receptionist’s and dental nurses, are so welcoming and friendly. They’re all incredible with children as well!

Went to see Dr Sophia Frankcombe at Tooth Dental following 48 hours of toothache pain. Was able to find an appointment for the following morning and was pleasantly surprised how nice everyone was. Everyone made me feel welcome, and the consult was thorough and professional but with what also felt like a personal touch as well. Would definitely recommend.

I have being taking my family to Tooth Dental for a number of years, and the service is always exceptional....but what and Lou and her team did recently went above and beyond. To ensure that my highly anxious 8 year old daughter felt at ease.....the fabulous Lou and Amy worked with Liz Fisher from Brisbane Orthodontics to give my daughter braces. They blew my mind with their kindness and compassion for her.

I had been putting of going to the Dentist for months. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by 3 friendly faces, one of which ended up being Dr Kate Collins who would be taking my appointment. Dr Collins made me feel very comfortable as we went through the appointment and she did so in a very professional yet personable manner.
I am now looking forward to my next appointment.

Tooth dental provides a welcoming, relaxed and professional approach to oral health care. The dental nurses were friendly and a credit to the practice, to which I highly recommend to others.
