We came here for my boyfriend's birthday and it was the perfect way to end his special day! The french onion soup in the 3 course meal was so so delicious, hands down the best french onion soup I've had. The rest of the mains and dessert were also super delicious! Overall, we had the best time. Can't forget the friendly waitstaff who went out of his way to help us take pictures! Definitely coming back and I highly recommend this little gem!!

Cafe Lyon is a cozy 2 level restaurant, with great atmosphere and delightful food.
The theme of the interior is very fitting with that of a French cafe, and once you step inside you suddenly feel worlds away. Time passes quickly. The quality of the food is top notch, while the prices are very reasonable. Lunch is only available on Thursdays, which is a shame, as their lunch menu is superb. Bookings are essential. The quality of their Entrees, Mains and desserts are equally delicious. One visit is not enough to explore their menu, even with a small group of friends.

This is easily a local favourite as it provides great ambience, and the food is wonderful. The scallop entree (day special) was an experience for the rate bud. The scallop was fresh and the thin cucumber slices both made my mouty felt like it was having a shower underneath a waterfall of clear, crisp and clean alp water!
The duck confit was great and I like how crispy and creative they cooked the potato that came with it.
The bomb Alaska was another gastrnomical delight. Although the both of us who ordered it promptly went on a fictional foodie's 'sugar coma'.🙂
Oh! And the French martini

This is our lockdown favourite. If you need some takeaway for date night - this place has great food that you can plate up at home that feels that little bit fancy. Amazingly, the quality is similar to what you get in the restaurant. My choice is the steak fillet (yes - it travels well and is tender pink on the plate at home) plus the desserts are similar to what you get dining in. Everything comes in separate boxes so you can plate it up properly.
For a special dinner to break the boring staying at home - this is your place. It's also alright value - for two people its generally $60 - $100 for

A Hidden hot spot for aussie locals!! Casual + formal french dining restaurant!
My friend recommanded here for me and my husband. We had a great time for having a delicious french cuisine with lovelies!
All waiters are such a gentle man, and always they keep smiling with kindness. Quite impressive! But remember, the waiting time is too harsh! You must think about at least several months for making a booking!
This is not a joke!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Try it! You will notify what I am talking now😏

Amazing food and service .. they have a set menu and the flavours are very french.. the place has a great vibe but is usually booked so a prior reservation is recommended. If you are loking for a nice dinner date it's the perfect place. One thing not to miss of you go there are the dessert s the souffle was out of this world..so light and fluffy and the chocolate mousse was equally good

A most impressive French Restaurant! The style, the furnishings, the music, the food and the service was excellent.
I love walking into a place and know this will be a lovely night for my work colleagues or downstairs in the more intimate areas this is ideal for the first date. I can tell you I have had too many to count.
The food was incredible. Every mouthful melted in my mouth. The duck easily came off the bone and the side dishes were very tasty.
Plenty of wine to wash everything down.... but not cheap. Then again who wants cheap wine with fantastic food.
Parking is a problem if you don

We recently visited cafe Lyon for Valentines day. The food I have to say was delicious.
HOWEVER the service was VERY VERY poor.
We were one of the first to arrive and be seated, yet customers who turned up later were served before us.
My wife was knocked three times by the waiter with no apology.
We were served our main before our entree. I also noticed this happen on two other tables.
I can only assume due to valentines day they over stretched themselves & brought in extra staff who didn't understand the way things worked.
There saving grace was the food.
We will try again on

The number #1 restaurant according to TripAdvisor in Linfield so thought I better check it out. It was a Wednesday night and it was packed, so that is a good sign - so make sure you book early. I ordered the 3 courses, which was a very reasonable $68.
I had the trout for entree which I gotta say was pretty special - a great balance of flavours.
My "plat principal" (the main course, for those not up on their French) was the Salmon - it was good, but not overly memorable.
The service was ok, but not great - we were served the wrong wine and the waiter forgot our dessert order and we had

We've gone to Cafe Lyon a couple of times now. Yesterday was a nice evening, so we decided to book for dinner at 7pm. It was super busy so we could only get on the footpath, which turned out to be fine.
We ordered the special, pate entry to share with champagne, two mains of venison and followed by a lemon tart and a medley of 3 little deserts, a chocolate mousse, lemon tart and creme brulee.
The pate was a little cold and too firm, on my pate scale I'd give it 2/5. I like my pate more flavoursome and spreadable, this was not.
The venison was cooked on the rare side (the proper way

Great food and great service.
Had the special entree witlof, proscuitto, baby artichokes, croquettes and some kind of nage thingy - it was sensational. I would have had the special main (veal) but they were all gone by six thirty.
Keeno had duck confit, only because there weren't any scallops. I had Barramundi done very well and with a french name that meant nothing to me.
You will need to book for a Friday or Saturday, it gets regularly sold out.
Highly recommend this spot, I didn't take any photos - it didn't seem the right thing to do.

Ate here last week with a couple of friends, really lovely food but wow they were keen to get us out of there! Being with a couple of girlfriends we like to linger, but they were ready to serve us desserts around half an hour after arriving. My friend had to ask to have a break between main and dessert, at which point they got the message and we chatted for another half hour before deciding to get dessert. Otherwise the food was great, the dessert a particular standout - I had the chocolate fondant with cherries and ice cream. Totally delish but really rich. Nice touch was the sample prawn entree

Delicious food and ok service. I will come back here.
However I have a few quibbles.
The 'pavlova' is not a pavlova. Pavlova is, in order, meringue with a crisp outside and soft light interior, cream and fruit. This dessert is fruit, sorbet (sorbet???), crisp meringue and a teaspoon of cream. France is very protective of its food heritage and I respect that. In Australia we don't have many dishes that are uniquely ours. I wish this restaurant would respect our food heritage.
I don't like the pricing. Set prices for 2 or 3 courses means I feel there is less choice in choosing

Delicious French food, reasonable sized serves and not that expensive. If you live on the north shore it is a rare opportunity to eat up market without the long drive. Great thu and fri lunch meals as well, with awesome desserts. On a Saturday night we fed a family of four excluding alcohol for about $250.
