Welcome to Duck & Dive, a genuine boutique, family run swim school specialising in babies from aged zero to 3 years and bigger kids from 3 to 8 years. We offer baby swim lessons in Sydney (inner west, north shore and St George areas). Both our Artarmon and Kogarah locations operate with socially distanced lessons and change areas.

We are extremely diligent with our polices, pool and people management! At our Artarmon pool we have 30+ socially distanced change tables in airconditioned change rooms - so EVERY visiting baby get's their own dedicated change area. For water confident babies 1 to 3 years there are "odd spots" here and there in higher levels, feel free to contact us to discuss.
Services
There are many baby and toddler swim schools in Sydney offering different programs many of which are based on water familiarity and building confidence through song and rhyme. At Duck and Dive we go far and beyond this as we recognise the importance of survival skills and aim to nurture a life long love of the water.
There are usually a couple of hundred make up lessons taken up each term which is really great as we want the bubs to keep. There are many swim lesson providers for babies and toddlers all over the city, offering different programs. Many other programs are based on water familiarity and building confidence through song and rhyme.
Our teachers get a lot of praise. Gentle, nurturing, fun loving educators and we are so proud of them! The most surprising fact that clients learn is that none of them have ever been teachers before! Duck and Dive are always on the lookout for people with the right skills to become teachers and our talent past and present has mostly come from "learning mums" who have become Duck and Dive Instructors.
Our "Ducklings" program for babies lasts for a year. This early development stage is key for water familiarisation and building confidence as they grow physically and change mentally.

During the Ducklings baby swim classes you will get to enjoy seeing your baby swim on the surface and underwater, learn some lifesaving skills, enjoy chasing toys around the pool, swim with noodles, swim and float on their backs, learn to kick their legs, paddle their arms and blow bubbles along with singing some of their favourite nursery rhymes.
These are all scenarios that none of us want to ever encounter but all should be prepared for. Duck and Dive Baby Swim School have teamed up with midwife and Parentmedic Ambassador Gemma Deng to help educate you and all carers on essential first aid for your precious child and become competent first aiders!

This is our third week of attending and my son is enjoying himself more and more each week.
The swim instructors are friendly and flexible based on the child's temperament each lesson.
I'd definitely recommend it to others.

An excellent swim school for our baby and toddler! Both are improving with their confidence in the water and swim skills! Water (and centre) are warm and comfortable all year round, hygiene standards are exceptional.

We have been going to Duck and Dive Artarmon for about 1.5 years and the staff are beautiful, the classes are structured amazingly well and our son absolutely LOVES his weekly class (& so do I!). The progression in his learning is amazing in such a short period of time and these swimming classes are to thank for that. Safety and confidence in the water is SO important to us and D&D have us well on the track to having a confident little swimmer. Can’t recommend them highly enough. ❤️

We did aqua play with our two children today (16months and 3.5 years old) for the first time and they had the best time. Adam gave us some tips to improve our 3.5year olds swimming techniques and our 16month old who finds the local pool too cold was so happy in the warm duck and dive pool for the full 45min duration. We will definitely be doing this again. Highly recommend!!

Duck and Dive is the only swimming school I've found that allows babies below 6 months old. Classes are fun and well structured, consistently building babies' skill set in the water. Barbara and Adam are very friendly and professional, and always try to accommodate everyone's needs. My baby and I have had a great experience so far. Keep up the great work guys!

D&D have the best baby and toddler swim lessons we have found in Sydney. They are professional yet playful and the kids love swimming thanks to having taken lessons with D&D since only a few weeks old. The Artarmon facilities are great too and makes it easy for the parents. I warmly recommend D&D to anyone who’d like their babies/kids to have the best start to swimming and water safety.

My son has been attending lessons since he was two months old (he is turning 5 this year). I highly recommend Duck and Dive over any other swimming school. Very professional, PH pool levels are tested constantly, the only school to have a 2 students to 1 teacher for learn to swim. The only school in Sydney catering for babies. Best service, best people, beat swimming school.

Totally love Duck and Dive! It's the best place to teach swimming to your little ones. All the instructors are amazing and very well trained. They were very patient with my little boy who used to cry a lot in his first 3 terms. We personally love lessons from Helen.

We absolutely love our swimming lessons at duck and dive. Our little girl is one now and her pool safety amazes us. She has loved lessons from day one and is such a little water baby these days. We have nieces and nephews who are a little older and do mainstream swimming lessons and it’s amazing to see first hand the difference of duck and dive lessons for the little ones. Couldn’t recommend them enough. Our teacher Barb is just fabulous and loves seeing the kids learn as much as the parents. It’s by far the best swimming lessons in Sydney.

My son loves swimming lessons, but perhaps not as much as me. It’s my favourite day of the week to take him swimming. The instructors are excellent and caring for each child understanding each child is a different age and some like or hate the water.
It was really special that the owners took photos and videos for us the first time we took our babies under water so we could share with loved ones that couldn’t be there - this really was so special and I’m forever grateful.
The pool is nicely heated and the pool and facilities are clean.
Would not take my son swimming anywhere else.
