Services
Our Licence hours were extended (8:15 to 6:00pm) to accommodate this. The days that this service will operate will vary depending on demand and cost effectiveness. The After Preschool program is intended as an extension of our service to enable those families who need it to leave their children at West Albury Preschool after the 'normal' operating hours of the Preschool program (8:15am to 3:45pm).
If you are considering enrolling your child at West Albury Preschool we advise you to place them on our Waiting List when they turn two years old. Our waiting List is developed in chronological order of application and enrolment priority is given to those higher on the Waiting Lists. The Centre will use the Priority of Access Guidelines to prioritise the Centre's waiting list and to allocate available places to families.
Being Community based, implies parent involvement. Parents are encouraged to have input into all areas of operating the centre, to ensure that we continue to offer what is in the best interest of your child. Parents may be involved in any of the following ways. Try to plan for your child to have a visitor (parent, relative or special adult friend) once a term.
The wellbeing and rights of every child is central to each decision, policy and practice in our Centre. We acknowledge and respect that Childhood is a "stage in its own right" and children are capable and competent participants in their own learning. Each child, family and staff member's culture and life experiences are unique and varied, and as such are acknowledged, respected and supported.
Reflecting this belief, our Protective Behaviours Program is implemented throughout our entire Centre in all of our interactions with the children. The children are also educated in Protective Behaviours strategies. This is carried out in small groups of children with a trained staff member. 3. We encourage assertion, self protection and empowerment throughout the centre at all times.
