Services
We are conveniently located within a couple of minutes walk of the Launceston CBD, restaurants, parks, cafes and shops. Also within walking distance are other popular tourist attractions such as the Cataract Gorge, Queen Victoria Museum, City Park and many more. Coming along Bathurst Street, make a left turn onto Canning Street at the Dynasty Chinese Restaurant.
The room did not have a view but had a firm comfortable bed, adequate heating, coffee and tea facilities, adequate space for our baggage. Room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. We stayed here for one night. The Mews is in close proximity to cafes and a short 3-4 minute drive to the Cataract Gorge.

This motel was the most miserably poor motel that I had the misfortune to stay in whilst on a motorcycling tour of Tasmania.
Had to wait 20 minutes for the receptionist to arrive from off-site to check in.
I was then shown to a pokey room that was NOT air conditioned. One window did not open. The other window let in a lot of traffic noise. It was one of the hottest days ever recorded in Launceston.
Tea and coffee was supplied but not in hygienic sachets, it was in reused small jam jars that made two serves.
Upon leaving I had to open the remote controlled security door to move my vehicle to

This is a five-star hotel of a motel.
The feeling of exclusiveness cannot be underestimated as the place is peaceful and quiet. Next to it is a kindergarten but surprisingly, it was noiseless. The cool and sometimes, chill air helps to alleviate anxiety and makes staying outdoor, a therapy.
The manager is helpful, not to mention, cheerful. He even offered me a prayer mat, but I declined as I brought my own.
The Coles market is just a short walk away and it provided great and fresh produce.
I was allowed to do light cooking at the backyard area and crockery and cooking utensils were provided

"the mews" is not a motel ! a heritage listed house that's had ensuite's added to 5 or so rooms on 2 levels with fridge only in each room ! secure rear parking though cramped for space ! the microwave, toaster, cooking facilities are on a open rear deck ! extremely well spoken pleasant owner but the house doesn't feel "private"

"Lovely" has been used by other reviewers and is perfectly apt for this cosy motel. Clean, comfy and well appointed rooms with modern en-suites. Beds are comfortable (at least mine was). Convenient location, walking distance from the city centre. The owner(?) is friendly and helpful. Vehicles are safe in the locked rear courtyard - a plus for those of us with motorbikes. Just a nice place to stay. Definitely would stay here again.
