From moment we checked in we were welcomed and surprised by the attention to detail and finishing. Our cottage was spacious, homely and beautiful. One night is not enough to soak in the ambience and character of Richmond and local wineries has to offer. The breakfast hamper finished the stay perfectly delivered to our room as we sat at dining table looking out at beautiful gardens. A home away from home!!

If you want a wonderful getaway this is the place to stay in Richmond, Tasmania. We can't recommend Mulberry Cottage highly enough. Everything is immaculate and no detail overlooked. As an added bonus, Maureen makes the most amazing pancakes and brings them to you hot for breakfast. This is above the beautiful breakfast ingredients already in the cottage. Do yourself a favour and stay here.

This cosy B&B is in a great location just a short walk from the main street in Richmond and the historical bridge. We stayed in the beautifully decorated Valley View Cottage which had a super comfortable bed and a good bathroom with luxurious rain shower. The cottage also had a small kitchenette and laundry facilities. We appreciated the thought that had gone into the extras in our cottage - fluffy towels, real leaf tea, real coffee and yummy biscuits. The continental breakfast was lovely - a good selection of cereals, fresh fruit and jams, juice, coffee, bread and lovely fluffy pancakes cooked

Despite reading conflicting reviews, we decided on Mulberry because of the pictures that we saw of the Valley View Cottage. We weren't disappointed. The new owner of the business, Maureen, is lovely and made us feel right at home. The cottage is separate from the main house but near enough to shout out to Maureen if you needed anything - change of towels, sheets, etc. The cottage itself is lovely, with all the creature comforts yet retaining its quaint character. It is likely the cleanest place we have stayed at during our trip throughout Tassie, and most were very clean. We were happy to have

Lovely room and close to town.
Top marks for cleanliness but.....
Expensive compared with other places we stayed in Tasmania.
Our hostess was abrupt bordering on rudeness. We were chastised and constantly supervised and questioned about everything. We felt like unwelcome guests.
The provisions were inadequate for the number of people booked. (2 over ripe bananas, one grape and a couple of soft apples for 3 guests).
Cottage museum was interesting but we were constantly reprimanded as we viewed it. Too many rules. Not relaxing.
Sorry Miriam but you have the wrong personality to host a B & B
