Demonstrated at the cevicheria; an Australian first offering many varieties of ceviche - fresh raw fish cured in citrus juices. Expressed through the parrilla (charcoal grill), Cilindro (smoker) and spit where traditional methods and flavours are embraced. Represented through our Pisco bar and desserts where exotic & vibrant flavours take you on a journey of discovery.

The San Telmo team brings Peruvian, but more importantly, a party, to ACDC Lane. It's the sheer user-friendliness and atmosphere that makes this new Peruvian-flavoured venue shine like a well-buffed dollar. Melbourne's best ceviche: Leading the ceviche charge is the ultra cool Pastuso, Melbourne's only cevicheria.
Services
Sam has taken place as Head Chef at Pastuso, after years of dedication and hard work as Sous Chef. He brings an innovative and passionate approach to food, rich with culture from his Peruvian background. Sam fell in love with cooking at a young age; he was always around the kitchen, helping his mother in her restaurant and catering business.
Pastuso is now available on Providoor. Executive Chef Alejandro Saravia has created 3 signature Pastuso menus or create your own menu with his selection of classics. If you're treating Mum to lunch we will have a complimentary Pisco Sour on arrival for her just to make things extra special! Pastuso is sharing a beautiful upstairs space at the Aviary Hotel, bringing our most popular Peruvian dishes on Thursday & Friday nights throughout May.
The main floor is made up of the Grill bar and Ceviche bar where you can watch the chefs work their magic at these open kitchens. The central dining area offers a slightly more formal dining experience, while maintaining a level of "understated elegance". The Mezzanine level has a viewing platform where guests have the perfect vantage across the whole restaurant.
The feast begins with a fantastic selection of our ceviche and street food, followed by our larger dishes using premium ingredients, showcasing our unique cooking methods. To finish, a selection of traditional Peruvian desserts are served. Your palate will visit the coast, highlands and jungles of Peru.

Welcome back Melbourne! We chose this restaurant to make our comeback to dining out after lockdown. It proved to be a good choice. The place was absolutely buzzing with patrons all enjoying fabulous food and drinks. We had a tasting banquet which showcased the range of food available - including from the grill. Highly recommend.

Had a lovely dinner and great service from Emily. We had the scallop ceviche, grilled lamb rump, striploin with potatoes as condiment and tres leches cake for dessert.

Everything we ordered here were delicious! The chicken was quite generous, the Peruano cerviche was certainly a highlight. It was rare to see soursop outside South America, so was interesting to see them making it into a pie. The alpaca tartare was new to me, tastes like tuna.

Came here for the bottomless brunch. Service was quick and attentive but also the meals came out in a timely manner.
The highlight was definitely the roast chicken.

First time trying Peruvian food and it was delicious! We ordered the feed me menu ($65pp) and a Pisco sour cocktail! The food was nicely presented, portions were generous, and everything was flavoursome! The grilled chicken dish was a little dry for me, but had a great experience overall!

Love love love Pastuso!
They catered for us even though it was a busy Saturday night, and fed us a wonderful meal.
Our waitress was wonderful and so friendly. She recommended the feed me option and we were extremely full afterwards! Their roast chicken was perfect. Their ceviche was yum and tender. Absolutely enjoyed it! Thanks as always!

I would like to strongly recommend Pastuso for a wonderful dining experience in Peruvian cuisine. I made a booking for two to celebrate my wife's birthday and I wasn't really sure what to expect! I glanced over the menu and it seemed more food that she would eat as she enjoys seafood more than I do. The dishes are set up for sharing so i thought no way will I enjoy the food because I don't really like fish! BUT HOLD THE PRESSES, let me tell you that we selected the Red Snapper, Beef and Fish Skewers and OMG!! I devoured my portions!! The Red Snapper was delicious and to my surprise

Ate/Eaten??: Corn cakes, those starchy fry like things, and beef skewers.
Plates were beautiful, and delicious. Under the corn cakes there were lil dollops of a boursin-esque queso, so tasty. My mother's skewer plate was devoured by her, too.

Excellent service. Really busy place, we went on a weekday for lunch too. Our tour included lunch, yay. There was a big group of either corporate types or speed daters, I can only imagine....

Fun location down one of the lanes, ac/dc.

This place serves a range of dishes, almost tapas size. Make sure you order a few as they are not very filling each but you share them and when all the flavours blend together with a nice wine you will have a great time.
It's a classy looking place but still welcoming. I've been twice and enjoyed it thoroughly both times.

Returned last evening for a team dinner, was good to see standards are still high and the Yucca chips still as good as ever. A few dishes have changed which is great but the loss of some classics (Alpaca tartar) seems like toning down to pander to a larger audience.

While not as edgy as it was previously, it's now settled into a comfortable consistent restaurant. It's now a 4 for me, with the competition around pushing the envelope; this little gem feels a bit too settled.

Amaretto sour is a must!
The ceviche are amazing, we had a couple of different ones and their taste were different and amazing, don't leave this place without that on your table.
I could not stop munching on the yucas, they do however fill you up pretty quickly.

Going with the chef's banquet is also pretty good value, but there are a lot of food, so only do that if you are hungry!

Yes. This. Place. Is. That. Good.

Situated down AC/DC Lane (a real place) is where you will find this gem of a restaurant, currently a worthy contender for one of my favourite places in Melbourne. For those unfamiliar with Peruvian food, this is the place where you can take a chance and be sold on every dish.

There is the safe bet to get you started, yuca chips with aioli, your standard pub fare. That is probably the most common thing you will find on the menu and they delivered.

You must get something from the ceviche bar and I went straight for the red snapper (peruano) that was swimming in

After trying on 3 attempts to get here with friends (our fault we couldn't match our schedules) I was quite disappointed in Pastuso, especially after hearing such good things.
Small dishes, quite pricy (food & drink), and a little bit of attitude from the server put me off. (Don't tell me all Ceviche everywhere is spicy when you're barely legal and have probably never ordered it in your life)
I tried the alpaca in the form of a terrine, and that was the best dish by far.
Fun Fact - there's a Peruvian liqueur they use in their cocktails that is quite strong but tasty

Hello Yelponians!

It's been a while since I've written a review for somewhere new to me, and for that I apologise - there are only so many nights in a week and my wife and I tend to frequent our favourite haunts.

But all that changes on a long weekend like this; where Thursday is Virtual Friday, and we have several more days of debauchery open in our calendar.

Now, Pastuso - it has been on my radar for a few months, largely because we see their business card frequently when we visit sister-restaurant San Telmo on Myers Place. We're regulars there, and it was our intention to

For those of you unfamiliar with the Paddington Bear story, he originally came from Peru and his real name was Pastuso, which is where the trendy little Peruvian eatery I had lunch this Saturday gets its name.

Pastuso is tucked away in ACDC Lane, one of the many little food alleys that run off Flinders Lane in Melbourne's CBD. Competition is fierce around here, and as far as restaurants go, only the BAD die young. Pastuso is still young - it only opened in July last year - but based on my first impressions, it's a stayer.

The quite extensive menu can be roughly divided into three

Ceviche bar. Charcoal grill pit. Full bar with Argentinian wines and pisco sours. What's not to love?

There are few things that excite my appetite more than Peruvian cuisine getting popular in Melbourne. So when I heard a new spot had opened on AC/DC Lane it went straight to the top of the list for the next date night.

Pastuso is an ideal date night spot. It's expansive dining room is sleek and comfortable, with a nice mellow atmosphere and noise level. The number of tables and mix of bar/table/booth options make it pretty much perfect for anything from intimate dinners to large groups
