Tucked away in an old sandstone warehouse on Hobart's iconic waterfront, Peacock and Jones is a hidden gem that celebrates the beauty of Tasmanian food. If you're passionate about local produce, give us a visit; from your prime position in the open kitchen you'll see your food as it's sliced, smell it as it's seasoned and hear it as it sizzles.
Or, if you're the kind who likes to be surprised, enjoy a spot in the under-croft away from the kitchen and surround yourself in the remarkable relics of a jam-making enterprise. Our menu is constantly changing, because our dishes are driven by what Tasmania grows. We believe a great dish without a fine wine is an unfulfilled experience; it's still great, but it hasn't reached its potential.

This restaurant has left us nothing but the best impressions! Great atmosphere, warm and fantastic staff, delightful service (thank you Shayne and Laura) delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, wide drinks list and wonderful dessert. We had the tasting platter and it was of high standards, definitely worth the price. I would like to come back here again and again.

I’m not normally one to write reviews but feel compelled to for this restaurant as every aspect exceeded our expectations. We went for our wedding anniversary. The beautiful rustic decor added to the romantic atmosphere. We ordered the tasting menu so we could try a variety of dishes. Everything tasted superb and was impeccably plated. Efficient and friendly service too - kudos to Laura and Shayne for looking after us so well.

A lovely venue with great potential. We began with a cheese board and it was delicious (the staff even making adjustments for our party being allergic to nuts). The food is okay for the price. I ordered an entree of the ribs and this was really hard to eat. Very fatty and barely any meat or flavour. My partner had the lamb main and he said it was delicious. It was all over a nice experience, however; when we were leaving we were put on the spot to tip and were made to feel uncomfortable when we didn’t after spending $199 dollars on dinner. Our lovely waiters attitude soon turned a bit sour as

Peacock & Jones delivered the best meals we’ve ever had. Service was exceptional for speed, friendliness and hospitality. We tried meals that were different and that you can’t eat elsewhere such as Pitivia (Duck and Pork Pie), King Dory with smoked eel sauce and soft dark chocolate with liquorice ice cream and much more. Everything was first class. Even Jeff (head chef) delivered the Pitivia Pie and explained how it takes 3 days to make. It was the best.

Great restaurant in Hobart.
Firstly the location of this restaurant is pretty much spectacular on the Wharf in Hobart in a stunning old building.
Secondly the staff are great and really friendly.
Thirdly the wine list is very heavy on Tasmanian wines, which is a massive plus when you are a Tasmanian restaurant. We had a 2014 Kate Hill pinot noir with our meal. This wine was really the highlight of the night, it was that good. With dessert we had a Milton iced reisling which was also the bomb.
Finally the food is good. For entree we had the beetroot and the ocean trout and for mains we had the

They provided wonderful dinner which both suitable for dating and gathering. I like they provide a wide range of sides with different flavors to mix and match with the main course. I’ve ordered Berkshire pork as my entree which is one of our favorite dishes tonight. The confit duck is great and match well with the sides too. The chocolate sorbet is an absolute must try, the combination of strong coco with a hint of orange zest and sea salt is classic but also never fail.
BUT, maybe I’m just overwhelmed by the starter, and the full mark reviews on the Internet. The texture of my main dish,
