Edward is the Principal Physiotherapist at Balmain Physiotherapy by Sydney Allied Health Group. Having graduated from the University of Sydney, Edward is a highly experienced physiotherapist who prides himself on his ability to make a positive and long term difference in his patients' lives.

He enjoys working with patients to understand not only the cause of their musculoskeletal injuries or dysfunction but also to understand the whole individual including their interests and lifestyle. This ensures he is implementing a bespoke management plan to each patient based on his comprehensive assessment and their individual needs.
Physiotherapy is at the core of Sydney Allied Health's vision to improve people's functional mobility and mechanical movement. Impaired movement may arise due to pain, weakened physical and muscle functions. The physiotherapists at Sydney Allied are passionate about developing holistic, individualized treatment plans for our patients that take into account their lifestyle, physical capacity and respective health goals.
Radial shockwaves are introduced into the body by means of a freely moving applicator which can cover the entire pain region. Shockwave therapy (RPW - Radial Pressure waves) are high energy acoustic pulses which aim to improve the metabolism in the region of pain, increase blood circulation and stimulate soft tissue repair.
Following Pre and post op there are a number of different issues that occur consequently as a result of pain, immobilisation, pre - operative preparations as well as post-operative restrictions. Joints often become stiff or swollen especially after arthroscopies and lead to joints being unable to move through their full range of movement leading to associated muscles becoming tight and weak.
Tennis elbow occurs at the outer elbow, where the tendon attaches to the bone. It is an injury to the muscles that extend the fingers and wrist, usually occurring as a result of repetitive actions and gripping which are common to tennis and other sports. Other causes include unaccustomed hand use (such as excessive typing, painting, etc), excessive wringing action and poor forearm strength.

I had chronic pain due to an old shoulder injury and have been to multiple physio's to help me reestablish mobility without me tearing up every time. A friend of mine in my support group who has had a very positive experience with Balmain physio referred me here. I came in without any expectations as at that point, I thought that my shoulder was untreatable. After 3 sessions, I was able to do things that I gave up doing long ago! I can even pick up my dog which I haven't been able to do for over a year! With many thanks from the bottom of my heart, thank you Balmain Physiotherapy!

I honestly can't recommend Edward and his team enough! They are by far Sydney's best phyiotherapy practice I've come across (and the only Balmain physiotherapist I'd recommend if you want to find one in the area). Not only I felt welcomed walking in, the receptionist was very helpful and patient with answering all my questions (I had bad experiences before) and helped me fill in the form though she was due to go on her break. I had neck and shoulder pain and could barely move, but was able to get a same day booking. Later on I found out Ed gave up his lunch time to fit me in (which I'm so grateful

Edward was very professional and knowledgable and knew exactly what to do when I told him about my back pain. I've been to a few Balmain physiotherapist but no one was able to fix my back. I've been having this pain for months and almost lost hope until a friend told me about them. I was a bit skeptical at first but I was amazed at how quickly everything was and the back pain was almost gone. I followed their instructions and did their recommended exercises daily, and I can confidently say I haven't felt this good for a long time. Thank you Edward and his team for looking after me, they're definitely

I twisted my ankle badly while stepping off the curb and into the gutter. As I did, I heard a crack.... boy that hurt and apparently those gutters are very dangerous.
I contacted Sydney Allied Health in Balmain and they fortunately were able to fit me in and see me that day.
Because my ankle was so swollen and I was in so much pain, Edward fitted my ankle into a “full length party boot”.
I had to attend 5 weeks of physio sessions, but in the first few days, the sessions were consecutive days. After 2 weeks of sessions, I wanted to give the physio away, but thankfully, Edward advised against

I am now coming to the end of my treatment here and can thoroughly recommend this new practice. I was referred by my GP and was seen the very same day by the physio, Edward Yip. The building itself is beautiful and makes a great first impression. The atmosphere is welcoming and caring. Edward is both charming and professional, pays one to one attention to your condition and, most important of all, shows himself to be completely confident and knowledgeable in all the variety of treatments he uses. I have made rapid progress and would not hesitate to give my recommendation to this practice.

Edward and the friendly team at Allied Heath Physio are simply amazing.
They employ a balanced mix of cutting edge tech and traditional methods all delivered one on one Patient to Dr ratio (something that I have never experienced with a physio as they are normally treating 5 or so people at a time).
All of the team display a genuine level of concern for your well being and provide an unsurpassed level of kindness and professionalism.
If you are after less overall consults and a quicker recovery, you need to see these guys.
