Keira is now well & truly cemented in the Physio realm, treating everyone from all walks of life. She first completed her studies as a Naturopath, and worked as a massage therapist for many years, and it was this passion for hands on therapy led her to complete her Doctor of Physiotherapy studies. Keira's treatment approach is based on attempting to not only treat the problem, but work out the cause is and why it's there.
Keira has spent many years working in the sporting realm of Physio, assisting many local & semi professional sporting teams over the years. Her spare time these days is taken up running around after her three little boys, who definitely keep her on her toes! Jeff is arguably the most experienced physiotherapist on the northern beaches, with over 40years working in private practice in Dee Why.

Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession that assesses, diagnoses, treats, and works to prevent disease and disability through a physical means. While it is well-known that physiotherapists treat injuries, increasing numbers of Australians are coming to physiotherapists when they want to take control of their health and stay well.
Dry Needling involves the application of acupuncture needles into tight painful areas known as 'Trigger Points' to create a healing response in these tissues. Dry needling has been proven to be a very effective way of relaxing muscles, reducing inflammation and relieving pain. It is intended to specifically target & restore muscle function, which is important as continued activity can lead to further tissue damage and increased pain.
Manual therapy, literally means 'hands on' treatment, and is primarily used by physiotherapists to treat pain and disability. It most commonly includes massage, manipulation, joint mobilisation and joint manipulation. As it sounds, Hands on treatment is delivered with the hands as opposed to a device or machine (and leaving you in the room for hours)!
There may be other areas worth using it on - if you have a complaint you think this may be useful for please contact us to chat. Shockwave therapy (ESWT), is a non surgical, non invasive treatment option for patients suffering from chronic conditions such as Plantar Fasciitis and Achilles Tendinopathy.
At O'Neill & Pross we are lucky enough to have a large gym area within the practice, including gravity machines, weights, vibroplates, swiss balls & many other pieces of equipment. A gym program and exercise prescription will be determined on a individual basis - which may be required for some patients and not others.
