Awesome experience, awesome staff, quality food - a must do in the Hunter My partner finished dry July and we decided to celebrate with "the Ultimate Margan Experience". We arrived early which was no issue, served bubbles on arrival. Next we ventured with Jess to complete a vineyard tour.

Her knowledge, friendly personality and enthusiasm for the industry was refreshing and she gave us a great tour through the garden, barrell hall and winery facilities. The 5 course meal that followed was awesome and all staff were professional and knowledgeable. Following lunch we had a wine tasting to try the rest of the wines that we hadn't already tried.
One of the Hunter Valley's pioneering wineries and twice awarded Hunter Valley Cellar Door of the year, Margan offers the complete fine wine and food experience. Relax and enjoy our single vineyard wines in the beautiful rammed earth tasting room or stunning open-air courtyard.

What a treat for our 44th wedding anniversary. From garden to plate, a wonderful range of texture, taste and flavour in each course. A very friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff made our afternoon, including a reconnection with former student Nathan.

Wow, wow, wow!
It’s been a while… But we’re out of lockdown and in the Hunter Wine Region… specifically, Broke! Garden to Plate menu was off the charts and the Margan wine pairing was the perfect accompaniment. Highlights were the Chablis style Chardonnay and the Barbera.. and the cannelloni & wagyu beef dishes 🤤
What a day…
Service was as spectacular as the food. Great team, great lunch - if it were local… I’d be in trouble.

Magnificent wines, atmosphere and food!
Margan really is the trifecta of wine tastings in the Hunter Valley. We pre-booked the Reserve tasting which was fantastic. Can highly recommend the Albariño, Aged Semillon’s and beautiful Ploughmans platter fresh produce from the gardens. Hospitality was 5 star. Thank you for welcoming our dogs and making it the perfect way to start our trip!

We took a tour with lunch. It was a beautiful winery and Gabby was a nice guide. Lunch was pretty good food-wise. But for a degustation meal, the pace of food serving could be improved. I was getting bored sitting down waiting. 5 courses given its portions shouldn’t have taken 2.5 hours. Chair was getting a bit uncomfortable towards the latter half. Hope these could be improved but overall good experience.

We had an amazing day at Margan. Starting with a great variety of wine tastings followed by a superb lunch. It cost a bit more than usual but totally worth spoiling yourself with. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, they all deserve 5 🌟

My partner and I were disappointed by our experience at Margan Wine. We did a lot of research into restaurants and Margan came highly recommended. Unfortunately it did not meet expectations.
When arriving we requested an outside table and the lady dismissed our request. We waited 20 minutes to be seated and another 30 minutes to be acknowledged. We had a 2PM booking for the set menu which was $220 without any drinks.
Others had been served, whilst we waited. There was a table available outside however by the time we were served and asked to be seated outside another table had moved there.

Many years ago I came to Margan for a wine tasting, but I never had the opportunity to dine in their restaurant.
This past weekend we sat down for a relaxed five-course lunch at Margan on the patio with a scenic view of the vines and farm where the food comes directly from.
The food at Margan Restaurant was delicious - with a strong focus on vegetables from the garden. It’s a comfort to know that the artichokes, asparagus and fennel you’re eating was grown only a few steps away.
Service was the standout memory from Margan. We had Brittany look after us during lunch and she was amazing, from

Amazing destination in the Hunter Valley. Make reservations for the multi course meals with set start times. Me and a mate did a wine tasting and the young lady who walked us through it was very friendly and well informed. It was a great experience and the wine was excellent. Did not taste a bad wine.

We celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary with a 5 course degustation lunch. The service from Zara and new trainee Vickie was outstanding. Very attentive, knowledgeable and professional yet extremely personable. The wine and food was without fault. Perfect flavours and appropriate serving size. We loved every minute. We were inside the cellar area which had a nice vibe but so glad we took time to wander the gardens and sit in the courtyard as it was a divine autumn day.

Lunch here was simply an amazing experience. It highlighted the beautiful produce grown at Margan as well as showcasing the elegance of locally sourced ingredients. The wines were beautifully paired with the meal coming together as more than the sum of their parts. The staff here were amazing going above and beyond. I highly recommend this experience to any one who loves great food and wine.
