Services
Amanda's on the Edge is filled with heart and family, with fun and of course fabulous food. Born of Grandma's dream - a whirlwind woman who created a cooking school in her days and always said, "When I have my restaurant." 23 years ago my brother discovered this block - a blank canvas yearning to be reinvented.
With magnificent views from every table, our charming restaurant is located on the hill of Windsor's Edge Vineyard. Here you can relax and enjoy flavourful tastes while looking over the picturesque vines and surrounding country land. Dine alfresco in the warmer months where you can nestle in the gardens or relax by sunset on the verandah, or get cosy by the fire in winter.
Food and romance go hand in hand, so what better way to feel the love on Valentine's Day than sharing a special set menu at Amanda's. Amanda's on the Edge is spicing things up in the Hunter Valley this month. Due to the popularity of our last sell-out event, Dumplings in the Vines, we are back with a brand new Asian-inspired set menu featuring one of our all time favourite meals: Yum Cha.

A wonderful meal for my mother’s birthday. Amanda and her team went above and beyond from booking through to our meals. Delicious food, a fantastic setting and excellent service.

Sensational food! We’ve been wanting to come here for years and now with GPS we can find it! The only issue with the menu is I wanted one of everything. With four people dining we had a good run of trying each other’s food

We asked to be moved and were accommodated and then my husband had to tell another table to stop using bad language,at no time did staff say anything. We had waited for months to get into the restaurant, entres… were average and my prawn dish was tasteless. We paid in advance and after being served desert that was the end of service. We showed ourselves out . I wouldnt recommend this restarestaurant at all.

A pleasant surprise.

To book for this restaurant you have to book online or call in the day to see if they have room.

My partner and I booked online and it stated we would be contacted to confirm our booking. We never heard anything by 8.30 on the day before we wanted to go so we called up and was told someone would defiantly get in contact with us.
Next day came and still no one had called or emailed us so we went to the hunter to do some wine tasting before going for dinner. We called back at 5 pm to confirm our booking for 6 pm and the lady who answered stated they don't send confirmations

Delightful cafe in the Hunter Valley! We stopped here for lunch and a cold pint of beer to cleanse our palates after visiting a few vineyards (though wine selection is incredible as well). Little more formal and pricey than a casual lunch spot, but food and beautiful patio seating were very well worth it.

All the food was sourced locally and tasted incredibly delicious. Tomato, basil salad with the local feta and olive oil was heavenly. Great service as well, we look forward to going back.

We happened upon this lovely restaurant on our first night in the Hunter Valley, which is great because we have time to go again! The food is beautiful (and great value for money, in my opinion.) The pork belly is amazing - one of the best I've had! The ravioli entree and chicken main were also very good, well-executed dishes with surprising flavours. Dessert is not to be missed, either. The service was impeccable, too, which I always appreciate. The meal was timed perfectly, and staff recommendations were awesome. Just go there!

Returning here after 2 years and nothing has changed. Still a very great nice little restaurant that's hidden away.

The building is small and very elegant inside. Outside during the day the view is great and there are some nice fields to take a stroll and you might spot a kangaroo or two. While being a little hard to find and the dirt part in lowered cars isn't the softest of drives. It's worth the effort.

The menu is short and sweet and keeps it simple (I like it). Two years ago I got the Garlic Prawns which also were very nice, I also tried a chocolate sundae that time around

I'm convinced this is one of those place you can go to and one night is great the next it's not

Amanda has been running for nearly 18 years - Great location and sitting outside overlooking a picturesque view of vineyards is welcomed

Service was great - friendly and warm
Menu - a great choice
Drinks - again a great choice
Food quality - a missed opportunity for a great review - the entree was great full of flavour (pork belly) and enticing - the main (meat) was a let down - asked for medium rare and got medium - served below ideal temperature as the butter placed on top of the dish was

The restaurant is a little dated. Food was average. I was expecting a lot more from this place as my friends didn't stop raving about it. Needless to say they too were disappointed.
There were candles on stands all over the restaurant which could easily have caught fire.

Came with my partner for Sunday lunch for our anniversary. We decided on 3 courses. Both seafood entrees were nice but I think there could have been one more ravioli for the price.
We both ordered the eye fillet. To look at, mine was overdone, but it was still incredibly tender. The galette, butter and gravy were perfect accompaniments.
We were discussing what we thought so far and were not fully impressed but decided to hold off criticism until we had dessert. We made the right choice! I ordered the banana pudding and it was amazing. I didn't eat the toffee on top but it completed the WOW

The food was good, the service was fine and the atmosphere was wonderful, including the view over the fields. You can bring your own wine or chose from the extensive wine list, with plenty of wine from their own vineyard and from their neighbours but also a few from the rest of Australia and from abroad. I had a very nice and relaxed time.

My partner and I ate here for the first time two years ago. We loved it and when traveling to the Hunter Valley again we looked forward to going back.

Unfortunately we left this time feeling completely put off. We waiting over an hour for our main meals and by the time they were served we were over the whole thing.

Only once did the staff check up in us and apologize for the delay. I regret to say I will never be going back.

Great mod Oz restaurant. Not precious or overly fancy, in what appears to be a converted house on a low ridge.

The menu isn't surprising: lamb rack, steak, prawn pasta, duck breast, etc. But it's quality, with tasty sides. My starter, the faithful salt and pepper squid, was perhaps the best I've ever had: very tender, and with some other mysterious, woody flavour adding wonderfully to the pepper. There seems to always be a curry special, too.

Seemed like the sort of place families were taking their nan for a special night out. It's got the balance of quality and down-home
