Our healthcare team can assist you with education, advice and care to ensure your pet has the happiest and healthiest life possible. We provide a full range of medical facilities for the diagnosis and treatment of dogs and cats. In order to keep informed on current therapies and procedures our veterinarians and nursing team regularly attend relevant seminars and education programs.
Veterinarians recommend desexing for a variety of reasons. Firstly, it prevents unwanted litters of puppies and kittens. In females, the spay procedure removes the reproductive organs and immediately stops hormonal cycles with the associated bleeding in bitches, and risk of pregnancy.
Castration of males can help prevent wandering tendencies which can lead to traffic accidents as well as some territorial behaviours in cats such as urine marking and fighting. The latter can lead to many an unplanned vet visit due to injuries which can in themselves require surgery and extensive treatment to resolve.

We recommend and stock a variety of healthcare products for your pets to protect against creepy crawlies such as fleas, mites, lice and intestinal worms. Please contact us for advice so we can recommend a product that suits your pet, environment and budget. We will tailor make a parasite control program for your individual pet, depending on his/her lifestyle and choosing amongst a number of excellent products now available.
Our x-ray facilities allow us to investigate animal injuries and health problems. Having the equipments on hand means we are able to quickly diagnose injuries particularly in emergency situations. This is convenient for you as your pet can have all treatment done at the hospital and also means our patients are given the best opportunity for recovery.

Critical: Professionalism
This practice is highly discriminatory. My friend and I have been taking our pets there for years and due to being unable to take the covid vaccine because of major health issues, they rudely yelled out in front of others.. oh, your not vaccinated-you can’t come in here! Bloody appalling.

We cannot speak highly enough of the team at Hornsby Veterinary Hospital. They have been looking after our furry family of retrievers and Birmans for 15 years now. From day to day care through to the hardest of all times - the final farewell. Such compassion, understanding, skill and gentleness means the world.

From the first phone call in the morning to the final decision in the afternoon, these guys were amazing. Compassionate and caring.
Our 17 year old cat wasn't doing well in the morning (he had heart and kidney issues) and the hospital said to bring him in straight away which I did. They made him comfortable and xrayed him told me my options.
After a lot of thought we made the decision to let the old boy go and Jill the vet was amazing throughout this process.
If you want your pets looked after - highly recommend Hornsby Veterinary Hospital.
