Leading Edge Physical Therapy commenced business in 2007 in response to a need in the Adelaide market to provide high quality physiotherapy management and excellent customer service. The name Physical Therapy was chosen to encompass all of our services of physiotherapy, massage, exercise therapy, pilates, biomechanical analysis, hydrotherapy, podiatry, and orthopaedic rehabilitation.
In 2012 we opened our new practice in Henley Beach, which is located within the Western Hospital, a private community hospital in Adelaide's western suburbs.

Sport is a vital part of the Australian lifestyle - it promotes good health, stress relief and is fun. Sometimes injuries may occur through sport. Fortunately your team at Leading Edge Physical Therapy can effectively treat your sporting injuries, enabling a safe return to your sporting activity more quickly than just 'rest and see what happens'.
The reason for this movement is that the shoulder is a ball and socket joint but the socket is shallow so the ball moves with great freedom. This essentially means that your shoulder is quite unstable. That is why your shoulder muscles are just so vital to a normally functioning shoulder. In most cases, if you are suffering shoulder problems it is because your muscles are simply not strong enough or they are uncoordinated.
Rotator cuff tears are a very common type of shoulder injury. Your shoulder joint is a relatively unstable ball and socket joint that is moved and controlled by a small group of four muscles known as the rotator cuff.
The subscapularis, supraspinatus, infraspinatus and teres minor are your small rotator cuff muscles that wrap around the ball of the ball and socket and try to stabilise and control the movement of the ball in the small, shallow socket. As the name suggests, the rotator cuff muscles are responsible for shoulder rotation and form a cuff around the head of the humerus (shoulder ball).

I'm into 3 days post hip replacement at Burnside Hospital... Dr Fassina completed the task with professional wizardry, but I have to give a big rave to the team members at Leading Edge Physical Therapy... they have tended to me twice daily, it's become obvious to me that their professionalism, care, knowledge and friendliness is a major contributor to my road to recovery... thanks to all concerned, it means so much.

It was a very good experience, better than I had previously experienced with them. One big positive was that my appointment time was exactly at the time I scheduled it for, I didn't have to wait for forty minutes like I do at Sportsmed. My physio David Heyneman treated me in a way that made it seem like he was doing a very thorough and professional job, it felt like I received a complete treatment, and he was not rushing me in and out.

I've had a very positive experience at Leading Edge Physical Therapy. I normally leave feeling better than when I arrive, sometimes treatment agitates it, but settles down within a couple hours. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. Very easy to set and change appointments. I was referred to Leading Edge by a friend, and have not been disappointed by their recommendation. Treatment is expensive without private health, but worth the money.

I'm always delighted with the service I receive at Leading Edge, whether it's from the physic's, podiatrist or front counter staff. Everyone is so professional, knowledgable and kind. The services are more expensive than I have used elsewhere, but they're worth every cent. Appointments also run a little late but I can't complain as I'm never rushed and I still receive my full appointment time

I was recommended to Leading Edge by my surgeon after initial physio failed to improve things. From the start the place was very welcoming, front desk PA extremely friendly and my physiotherapist very personable, he put my mind at ease and the therapy he did over several weeks has been very beneficial and has got me to a point where I have all the movement I need for normal life/work. Mine was a work cover injury but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Leading Edge to any of my friends looking for a good physiotherapist and if I have any further problems I would go back without hesitation.
