Choosing to adopt a cat or kitten is an exciting time. However, there are many things to consider before adopting a pet to help ensure the right cat is placed with the right family. Selecting a cat that is right for your family, lifestyle and environment is very important, our adoption process is in place to help insure the perfect fit for both you and our cats.
Because pets age so rapidly, major health changes can occur in a short amount of time. The risk of cancer, diabetes, obesity, arthritis, heart disease and other serious conditions all increase with age. Today's pets are living longer than ever, chances are that many may experience a potentially serious illness during their lifetime.
Vaccination has revolutionised control of infectious disease in our pets. It is essential that all pets are adequately vaccinated to help protect the pet population as a whole. Responsible pet care requires kittens to be given their initial course of vaccinations, but this cannot protect them for the rest of their lives.
Fleas are most often seen during the warmer months but as we keep our homes nice and warm throughout winter, we see fleas all year round. Only a small part of the adult flea population actually lives on your pet. The fleas' eggs and larvae live in the environment and can survive for up to a year, so it is important to not only treat your animal directly for fleas but also decontaminate the environment as well.
There are two broad categories of worms that may affect our pet dogs and cats, heartworm and intestinal worms. Heartworm, or Dirofilaria immitis, is a parasite that is spread by mosquitoes, so you pet does not even need to be in contact with other pets to become infected! Heartworm has a complicated life cycle.

Thanks Dr. Riggione for saving my little girl Dixie. I'll never been able to thank her enough for all she did and never gave up on her. I'm a 1st time fur baby mom and they made me feel so comfortable & guided me all the way through getting my little one back to health. ALL of the staff (especially Brooklyn) are very caring. One of the vet techs called to check on my baby the next day. They all are so helpful & very informative. I would recommend this vet to ANYONE who wanted great care for their 🐕!!!

I’ve been coming to Cottage on and off for most of the 13 years they have been open and I won’t take my babies anywhere else!! My senior girl loved Dr Manning, so when he opened this practice of course we went where he went! After Dr Manning retired, I tried other local places worried it wouldn’t be the same. I do miss hearing his unmistakable voice in the back talking to his various patients!! But since returning to Cottage years ago, nothing has changed about the affordable quality care my pets have gotten. There are some wonderful veterinarians there and the staff is fantastic! I won’t

My family and I had to make the difficult decision to put down our beloved 12 year old Ellie. Even though we had never been here before, they were able to accommodate us right away. Very compassionate and caring ladies working there and we couldn’t be more grateful. We left feeling at peace and that’s worth more than anything in this world. Thank you all for making such a sad day as comfortable as possible.

Took my 3 week old yorkie puppy in today (weighing less than a pound) he had pneumonia and was having trouble breathing which I specified on the sign in sheet.I waited 45 minutes behind 3 non emergencies and no one even bothered to have him assessed until I finally lost my patience and complained and the receptionist had the nerve to ask me if I paid the emergency fee, If you arent treating it like an emergency and letting healthy fit dogs ahead of me you dont get to charge me an emergency fee!.I have always liked our Vet there and it is the only reason I go back. Its very obvious to me that locals

Went there for my dog and my kitten. They helped make our dog comfortable and they were very good with both animals. They explained everything and if they couldn’t help they were going to find help from some where. Awesome team !!! Awesome experience I will not go anywhere else unless I have to!

In my opinion I truly love this clinic. There staff are kind and very easy to communicate with. I personally would recommend this clinic. Yes, patience will be needed but there trying to keep you, and themselves safe as the virus is still going around. Yet, they still are able to manage with even two people. Our pets are being taken care of by professionals and thats whats important at the end of the day. I would like to lastly thank the clinic for all its done, my pet enjoys the vet visits to your clinic.

I see constant negative remarks about the clinic’s long waits. As a client, I’m aware that the clinic runs on two doctors only yet they still manage- one to head surgeries so we can get our lovely pets fixed for low cost, and one doctor who runs the walk-in clients (doctor works on three patients at a time as efficiently and diligently as possible). The business strategy for walk ins only, and no appointments (except for surgeries) is highly effective for those of us who are having emergencies/sudden issues and can’t afford to wait next week to be seen by an “appointment only” clinic

These guys are the best vets we have ever been to, we have moved a lot in the past so we have been to many vets, in Australia and Canada. The way they take care of our babies Byron and Pumbaa is above and beyond. Special shout out to Dr Dee and Courtney. Their love, care, empathy and treatment of our furr babies melts my heart. Thank you for all that you do ❣️

Dee and all the staff have been wonderful over the years. Originally recommended to me by a work colleague and I’ve never looked back. Zara our dog has had excellent care and even been babysat after her leg operations whilst I went to work. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a vet who provides a personalised, sincere, affordable and great service.

I do t know where to start to tell you all about how amazing everyone who works here is! I have had nothing but the best experiences. When my Waffle's life came to an end, they did everything to make sure that he was as comfortable as possible and that we were too. Elizabeth hugged me and gave me so much comfort as I said goodbye to my beautiful boy. I cannot recommend them enough. Beautiful humans doing all they can for our fur babies
