Services
The cottage was hand built by the Chrimes family in the early 1900s. Mr Chrimes and his five sons lived in a shed whilst making mud bricks from the creek to build their house. The Chrimes raised their family there for many years, never having electricity, plumbing or running water. They used the creek for water and the toilet was a thunderbox - which is still there today.
We have received many compliments over the years in our Guest Book at Hoddywell Cottage. Here is just a small sample of them we thought we would share with you. Thank you to everyone for taking the time to make comments - sorry we can't fit them all in here! The Bride & Groom came to see the house with us.
Set beside the picturesque Harpers Brooke, the historic cellar offers cellar door sales & wine tasting. Constructed in 1870 this mill is now a museum displaying working historic machinery and an interpretative display of the mill's operations and life. Whilst enjoying a taste of wine, you are able to experience the beautiful views and capture the ambience of the valley below.
