This restaurant is a hidden gem in Northern California. My family has eaten here twice over the past few weeks, and shamefully we have lived in El Dorado Hills for five years and have never visited the restaurant. The owners are wonderful, and they do all of the cooking. They have been cooking together for over 35 years and were the first Afghanistan restaurant in New England. They have their own published cookbook. The recipes and dishes are extraordinary and wonderful, and it is priced affordably. I have never had lamb cooked Better than this place, and I have traveled to over 50 countries. Even

Wow! This place is exceptional. We were looking for a new restaurant to try for take out and remembered seeing this one. I’m assuming it’s a family run business because they truly take pride in their food. Just incredible and we will for sure make this part of our regular rotation. We ordered the saffron chicken kebab with eggplant and kabeli palow with pumpkin purée, sautéed lamb and potatoes. Also some bolani on the side.

Very nice restaurant with excellent customer service, delicious food, ambiance, and nice decor. The owners Nangela and Mussa were very hospitable. They explained the Saffron farm which they sponsor in Afghanistan called @Silk Road Saffron. Reasonably priced and organic. Will definitely go back when I return to Sacramento and try their other dishes. Highly recommend😊

First time trying Afghan and the food was good. Great moody atmosphere, tastefully decorated. Service could be better. Chapli kebab was amazing with saffron rice. Lemon salad was delicious and so was hummus and bread. Mantoo was ok, too many mixed flavors imo for a first timer. Saffron cake was good with tea! We’ll come back to try new things, definitely recommend

Where do I begin....
First off, I would like to say that the food tasted fairly good, but I wasn’t particularly fond of finding a human hair in two of my dishes. Upon bringing one of the dishes to the attention of the staff, they hesitantly took it back and offered to replace the dish. The staff casted some reluctance in whether the hair truly existed upon presenting the food, or if it was my group’s doing. Additionally, there was a lot of confusion regarding who to order from, where to pay, where to wait, and how long the meals would take to make. When we began to order, we asked for recommendations

Incredibly delicious food. The patio had an excellent ambience for a leisurely dinner. It was also the safest arrangement I have seen, since the tables are yards apart. I was in town for two days. We went to Bamiyan the first day and liked it so much we came back for the second. They were generous and gave us tea with saffron samples, which I am excited to prepare. The ice cream, pudding, and cardamom cake were all exceptionally good—the cake most of all, I think.
