The Como Hotel
The Como Hotel was originally built for the Germans working on the construction of the railway. This hotel has had a mixture of owners & Publicans from the Catholic Church in the late 1880's to that legend of Australian rugby league Arthur Beetson. Affectionately known as the Como Hilton, the Hotel was re-built 5 years later keeping the original brickwork and retained the burnt door which was salvaged from the fire in the hotel's restaurant.

Como Hotel has a touch of elegance standing in the quiet backwaters of the Georges River. With remarkable views and shady verandas, this hotel is a beautiful heritage of our Shire. Today, The Como Hotel is one of the oldest buildings in the Sutherland Shire and is an important part of the Shire's heritage.

Party of 11 people for lunch. 3 large prawns dish overcooked and dry and overpriced, most of the chicken dishes were overcooked and like leather, the Brushetta topping was okay but the bread underneath was sloppy and could not be cut efficiently with a knife, was certainly NOT brushetta. Overall, very overpriced for an unsatisfactory number of dishes. The service and atmosphere was excellent, pity about the food, certainly not worth the price, would have expected this in a 3rd world country, have been to 64 countries around the world and have to say the food here was substandard. Won't be coming

Great old building with character very spacious dining area with very good food, only thing I could fault was small bar area in dining room people start to queue across doorway to outside area. Very pleasant young staff too.

Lovely hotel. You would never know that it burnt to the ground in 1996. Fantastic renovation job. I love how the original doors have been kept. The food is great and the prices are reasonable. Friendly staff. Great views and it is close to the train. Ample parking and a courtesy bus is provided.

It used to be a great place for food but for the past two years it is declining
I gave it another chance last Friday, we ordered eggplant parmigiana, chicken parmigiana and salmon…. All undercooked and over salted! We took friends over and everyone was really disappointed
Such a great location but sadly we won’t be back anytime soon

Lovely heritage hotel with plenty of balconies to enjoy a bevvy and a meal. The steaks were a big favourite and very tender. Nice selection of salads too!

Excellent park/waterfront pub. The staff here were so friendly and accomodating - although on a weekend, during lunch it can get VERY busy. I was told there may be a hour wait before food comes out! Luckily it came in about 15min - I was pleasantly surprised. I would avoid the ribs, but the chicken burger was on-point. The chips were great and the beer on tap was good. Nicely kept and street parking is available all around.

There is a bit of a story about this pub, namely that it was destroyed in a fire, and then painstakingly restored to its former glory, and it is certainly worth it. By public transport, it certainly isn't the easiest one to get to, though it is located in one of Sydney's southern riverfront suburbs. I ended up making the trek down here and it was absolutely worth it. The building is gorgeous, and there is a great balcony area, as well as a rooftop dining location. It is certainly work the effort to check out.

Used to love the food here years ago. Now the steaks never seem to be cooked as requested and the portions never seem to fill. Regardless it has great balcony views, nice outdoor seating area and is a good spot for summer afternoon drinks

It's such a beautiful day !! ....... that makes the Como Hotel a standout. On a day like this you have the lovely views from the balconies here .... the spacious surroundings ...... the cool sea breeze blowing up from the bay ....... the cold beer (of which there are many ..... so many to choose from) ...... and if you are here long enough, you will eventually get hungry and in a good place to enjoy good pub tucker.

It's one of those places alittle out of the way ..... but if you are nearby or even happy to cross a bridge from Oatley .... it will be worth the trip ...... you have the

Nice from the outside but it's your standard pub on the inside. Good to wet the whistle here after kicking the footy across the road.
