Wheelers Hill Hotel
The Wheelers Hill Hotel was originally built in 1876, first as the Mulgrave Post Office and now trading as the local pub you know and love. Known for our beautiful view, look out from our floor to ceiling windows over the Mount Dandenong Ranges and beyond. Only a 20 minute drive to the popular Kokoda Track Memorial Walk, and just up the hill from Jells Park we're in the perfect location between the city and the suburbs.

Dine in our beautiful Family Bistro, you'll be able to sit indoors, near the cosy fireplace or out on our huge undercover lower terrace. Our menu features fresh ingredients sourced from local suppliers, you'll find succulent steaks, healthy green salads, fresh seafood and all your pub favourites. The little ones are covered, with our newest attraction, the Stadium 1 Kids Playground located in our main dining area.
Services
Our Family Bistro has the best view of the Dandenong Ranges in all of the south eastern suburbs, settle into a window table indoors or next to a cosy fireplace, better yet, sit out on our inclosed lower terrace. Our menu boasts a huge selection guaranteed to suit everyone, succulent steaks, fresh seafood, heart warming pizzas and pastas, and everything in between.
We pride ourselves on stocking a selection of Victorian and imported wine, ice cold beer on tap, spirits and cider. Head to our Family Bistro to speak to the team about what we have on special, and what they recommend to match your occasion. Our Family Bistro Bar overlooks our dining area, and onto the Dandenong Ranges view.
With our views and function room facilities, we're the perfect place to host your next function. With two large function spaces, depending on the type of event you're after, we'll have something to cater to everyone. Have your pick of our cocktail lounge or our lower terrace areas, and be able to select a menu package to suit what you're after.
We strive to be at the heart of our local community by providing a place for friends to meet, for families to relax and to host local functions and events. We are the unofficial 'clubhouse' for a number of local sporting teams - a place to re-convene after matches, sell raffle tickets, celebrate victories and commiserate losses.

Hadn't been here for ages and don't think I'll be back..fiery prawns are overpriced...they just taste like the frozen ones from coles.. (there yum but not worth the price they charge)
Entree calamari is ok, but i dont understand why it doesnt come as a main???
Also small serving for high price.
Chicken Parma no good and weird choice of using shredded pizza ham...
Coke and beer tasted flat.

The meal that I ordered was really quiet average, and the ting that surprised me is that when I asked if I could get a take away container for one of my guests who has had bariatic surgery to put the rest ofv their meal in because they dont eat it all at once the staff member indicated that we are not registered or licensed for takeaway?? As for the venue, great venues, however in need of a renovation to bring the decor, especially the chairs and furniture into more current styles. Not a place I will be going to again.

Came here for lunch with some friends. I ordered the Steak - Medium Rare. It was delicious. The portion was good and cooked just right !! It was good value for money too. Not too expensive for a lunch, but filling !! View over the Dandenong Ranges was excellent !! Will recommend this restaurant to friends.

First time coming here and I was very pleased. main meal was good, dessert was even better. I had the violet crumble pavlova and I couldnt fault it. We had an absolutely awesome waiter named Victor who was just lovely (if you have employee of the month, he deserves it) Will definitely be coming back here.

Tonight we had a group of 35 people attend your bistro.
What an absolute joke the food was. Not only did not all the food come out but your waitresses honestly couldn’t handle a complaint if it hit them in the face.
Your ribs were absolutely appalling, given this wa a handled by your manager, but the rest of the food… the Parma was plain,… definitely not worth the $26 paid for it, the extras ordered with each parma never came out and it took asking 4 or 5 times for this to happen.
The three little pigs burger was full of fat and grissle regardless of the fact it had pork belly

Poor quality food, don’t waste your time as you will be disappointed. $39 for a 300g porterhouse handful of chips & some sad looking veggies, toughest steak you will ever eat.

Have been trying out different pub meals each week. Went to Wheelers Hill Hotel last night - most terrible meals we have had! Tuscan chicken and coconut curry lamb shank were both cold (couldn’t even microwave them properly). Lamb shank had a getting “very close to use by date smell & taste”. Left both meals - staff token gesture asking about meals, not interested in feedback. Would never go there again.

First time back to visit after several years, we were pretty impressed. Service was friendly and efficient, given how busy it was. Menu offered a good variety of meals, however the lobster specials were the highlight. They were a good size with a decent amount of meat on them so good value. There were other menu items that caught my eye...will definitely consider returning again soon. All in all a good night had by all with the family. Keep it up!!

Beautiful scenery (if you ask and given the right seat), tasty foods and generous quantity. I've passed by this place so many times, but today is the first time I ate here... Will be coming back :)

Spacious venue with ample car parking, and dining hall offering panoramic views of the Dandenong Mountains.
Our steaks were over-done, coming out medium-well instead of rare that we ordered. Accompanying salad and chips were good. Overall, expected better.
Team members were friendly enough.

One of my favourites. Family , friends , workmates and even the one final dinner we had with a person I regarded as my own mom, I will always remember. Majestic view , courteous staff and great food . Why else would I ever cross this bistro off my list ?

The Wheelers Hill Hotel Bistro
Review 11/12/2020
Good to see that the new normal is here for the the bistro. Consider that restriction is not fully relaxed, the bistro is "fully" booked under such circumstance.
The view is quite specular whether it is day and night. However, I think it is time for the the full length windows to have a good clean, because they do affect my enjoyment looking out to the Mt Dandenong in the distance. Although it is bright day, the sky is not very clear, sort of a bit hazy.
There is ample parking. The bistro is definitely wheel-chair friendly because the dining
