Services
This surgery offers a recall system for Pap Smears and Immunizations. You will be offered the choice of being enrolled on the pap smear register at the time of your consultation. The Australian Immunization register keeps a record of all vaccinations given, and will generate a reminder notice for us when vaccinations are overdue.
Note: Emailing directly to the practice times are Mon-Friday : 8.30 am - 4.30 pm, after hours will be followed up in the morning. We do see walk-in patients as well but please be aware if it is busy a waiting time may occur. Visits by our doctors to your home or a nursing home can sometimes be arranged for our regular patients.
Wishart Medical Centre is a group general practice located Wishart, a southern suburb of Brisbane. The practice is situated on a main road in a complex which includes a dentist, pharmacy and a chiropractor. The practice consists of four full-time doctors and five part-time doctors, supported by our practice manager, accounts manager, four practice nurses and eight receptionists.
General practitioners (GP) are doctors who are trained to diagnose and treat an array of medical conditions. Their role includes performing routine physical examinations, diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries, and managing immunizations. GPs are an important part of the medical team and are usually your first point of contact for any health issues.
Podiatrists are foot doctors who prevent and treat common foot problems, and advise you on healthy foot care. Some of the conditions addressed by a podiatrist include bunions, corns and calluses, dry and cracked feet, and ingrown toenails. They also specialise in fitting orthotics, such as insoles and arch supports, customised to treat or correct various foot abnormalities.

We have been using this practice for many years and find the service excellent. While our regular GP Dr Chan is fantastic, if he is unavailable we have always been able to see another doctor quickly to deal
With urgent medical issues. Staff are always friendly and willing to help both over the phone and in person. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this practice to others, it’s awesome.

The Reception is very friendly. I'm surprised they still remembered my name as I hadn't need to see the Doctor for quite some time. I see Dr Lee and she gave me better advice and medication than the Dermatologist gave me for Psoriasis. I found out the Dermatologist gave me weak cream. So Dr Lee gave me something a bit stronger and it's been working great. I just wish she worked everyday since she only works Monday and Thursday. Regardless, I've been a happy patient of hers for maybe 8-10 years now.

I deleted my last review because I felt crazy. I had to remind myself that I felt crazy because I was constantly told I was over-reacting.
I was escaping DV when I went to this practice. It's been clear to all treating providers since I was at Wishart. There were disclosures listed on files.
I think about my time here and think about the advice I got here and the calls the doctor I saw made - Yvette Tan. It took me a year to compile all the hand outs she gave me, as well as passing on the notes to Specialists because I couldn't figure out why my mental health got so much worse.

We have used Wishart medical centre for over 6 years now. However, for the past 4 years it has been out of convenience or not being able to get in anywhere else. While the nurses and ladies in admin have been wonderful, the doctors have been anything but. In particular the owning doctor, Dr Chan, is a condescending person who is more interested in letting you know that he knows more than you than listening to your symptoms and building a case to help you or your child. Unfortunately most of the other doctors working here are of the same calibre with the exception of Dr Green and another lady who

It is terrible. Our appointment is 10:00 am. However we have to wait until 10:50am to see the doctor. My son is only one and half years old. He cannot be settled to wait that long to see the doctor. The doctor seems very busy, and have no patient to answer any question.
Before we come, confirmed on the phone that the kids is bulk billing. However the doctor changed her mind and charged us another $36 on top of the medicare rebate.
We will never visit them again.

It's Ok, they don't bulk bill for initial consultations, so you're down $30 at least (or $60 if their medicare machine is down, often). No private healthcare rebates either. The staff are friendly enough although seems to be hit and miss. Sometimes I feel more like an irrstion to quivkly dismiss rather than a valued customer and patient, which is disappointing. Runs fairly on time so that's the flip side, no walk ins are accepted either so you must make an appointment.
