Very nice atmosphere for that bar. Good service at the bar and pretty large choice of drinks on tap.
The food was basic but good, portions are quite big for mains.
You can either order from bar or from QR code on table.
I just wish the outdoor area was smokefree

Absolutely amazing atmosphere. Staff go above and beyond. I hope all the complainers are aware its the government that have implemented the double vaxx rule. Unfortunately hospitality staff deal with the abuse from just following the laws imposed upon them by the govt.

My first time today at the Balmoral for 40 years. The team of young food and beverage staff was just fantastic - kind though not patronising toward us baby boomers, really efficient and with a great spirit about them. I hope the boss recognises how great they are...

We just got served by the worst barmaid in town. Very rude and abrupt. Not wanting to give this place any more of my dollars. Nice looking place and good vibe. Menu pretty standard fare.

Shocking service :( which is why it only gets 3 stars from me.

We had 4-5 waitresses go past us before we had to quite rudely ask to be served.

Meals came out quick and were a decent size but $24 for a simple chicken burger on a coles bun - not worth the $$$.

Music was shocking as well - considering it was "live"

At the end, 2 people where still eating (and quite obviously so) but they kept coming to clear the plates and asking if we were done....

Cannot beat Tuesday night $15 steak and quiz night! Best priced steak you can get! I recommend the mushroom sauce with it. On the side so you get more haha! The chips used to be better, now they've changed then to french fries they arent as great.
I wouldnt recommend the hot chocolate... Mine came out cold with little to no chocolatey goodness.
Deserts are usually yummy too, if you can fit them in after the hefty 300g rump steak youll devour.
Service is very quick and efficient most of the time!
Id recommend booking for tuesdays, quiz starts at 7.30.

Anyone for a meatless burger??Always great when I can be just like the rest of the carnivores on the table minus the beef add marinated tofu! It was delicious! Creates the curiosity of how they gotthe burger black? ? Great atmosphere, i venture here often for the live acoustics on a Sunday arvo/evening. The wood fire and mulled cider are also a winning combination.

Definetely an improvement in the food lately. Steaks are of better quality last 2-3 ive gone for dinner. And not overcooked for once! Getting better. $35 for 2 scotch fillets w chips and salad. Reasonable for the size and quality i thought. Face painting and kids activities on mondays quite popular. Wednesday is blues night with live band which always pulls a crowd. Good local to meet up w mates after work. Theyve recently changed their chips from beer batter to french fries. Not as good. Bring back the beer batter chips! Salad like any other pub salad - nothing to rave about. But i dont go to

Popped in here the other day for a working leaving lunch and was delightfully suprised by the improvement in the food from my last stop 12 months ago.

Service was lovely as were my fish tacos! Meals were a really good size and everyone was satisfies with their lunch.

They allowed us to do seperate payments even though it was full table service so that was an extra convenience.

They have a few options for a bit of build your tapas but theu were out of the squid and brie at lunch on a Friday which was a bit disappointing.

Recommend a swing by and check out the menu.

I've been here a few times and I really enjoyed the other ones more... I don't know what it was about tonight but the staff and food was average... They didn't have three of the starters that were on the menu.. And they didn't have any chicken Paramas! I know not everywhere needs to do these... But I was looking forward to a good pub meal! I ended up having the chop chop salad which was interesting...but not great.. My partner had the chicken Kiev.. Which he said was good but wasn't sure why they added a mushroom sauce on top? It was in the entertainment book so we got

The old Balmoral puts on a decent feed for pub grub. They've got a good sunday deal of cider & sliders for $15, but I opted for the big breakfast which is served in an actual fry pan making my food both fun and interesting to eat (I'm easily amused). There's other special on every day though so there's always a reason to stop by.
There's lots of outdoor areas to sit in the front and the back so you can keep soaking up them rays and soothe your hangover. Coffee is average and only comes in small cups but its decent for a pub.
All in all the old Moral is a good place

Went for lunch and had the T-Bone steak with cream garlic sauce, I've asked for medium rare it was really a medium/medium well-done, but I must say it was a nice steak and very tender but NOT CHEAP! $34 bucks!!!

Niceatmosphere with live music and outdoor seating area. Unfortunately the cigarret smoke was blowing to the non-smoking dinning area making it a very unpleasent experience.

They've got a great selection of beers on tap and I have to try the specials, Mondays kids eat free and Tuesdays $15 for steak with salad and chips.

I will think twice before ordering a steak for lunch

I can say that the The Balmoral is in a really good location and not that far away from The City, but that is probably as far as I can go with the compliments.. We waited 20 mins for drinks, my food came out cold and also they gave us an entree dish after our mains had arrived. They took our number away half way through the meal and the rest of our table didn't receive their food for a while because of the confusion. On the other my steak was cooked perfectely.

Will not be jumping at a chance to go back there for a "Sunday Sesh"

Why is it this place is always so busy????

Yes it has a great location there in the busy part of the Vic Park Strip but really, is this place worth the money.

The menu is at best boring and unimaginative, jeez they dont even have a Burger on it.

The steaks are pricey for what they are and although its the norm, the drinks are out of this world pricey.

On a more positive note the staff are friendly and the service quick. It just amazes me that as consumers we still continue to go out to basic pubs and pay over $30 for a main course.

Come on Perth wheres the value for money

Another place that was a partial 'locally' for me when I lived in East Vic Park. I worked at a Bottle Shop while I was there and one of our regulars, Chris, said that he often did some gigs up there playing guitar and singing, so I thought I'd head along to watch him one evening. The vibe of the Balmoral is great, the size of the building reminds me of country town hotels where the food, entertainment and accommodation is all in one. It's such a chilled out, relaxing place to sit and have beers (at very good prices) and enjoy some nice music in a legit, big-old-pub.
