This means that students that qualify will benefit from SUBSTANTIAL savings of up to 90% off normal course prices thanks to the Government subsidies.
For those international students that want to combine their love of dance and performing with their studies here in Australia, Dance Factory provides a truly fulfilling study experience here in Melbourne. Dance Factory offers a range of courses that are rewarding, fully accredited and CRICOS approved for internationals students.
Dance Factory is the perfect school to harness the passion and energy that young people now have for Dance. 30 YEARS HISTORY We have a proud history of producing some of Australia's finest performers and choreographers and we apply that same attention to Dance technique, safety and performance to our junior school.
As the professional world changes, getting a recognised, accredited qualification is becoming increasingly more important. At Dance Factory, we offer professional accreditation for a variety of dance industry-related skills and experience. No further study or training is required and the cost is a substantial saving over the fees for a full course.
Dance is a powerful teaching tool that engages students physically, mentally and creatively; it is an inspirational way for students (and teachers) to move beyond the traditional class room and gain experiences in new and exciting ways.

Over the years the Dance Factory's schools program has proven to be inspirational way for students and teachers to learn new skills and techniques that can be incorporated into their Personal Development and Physical Education Programs, not to mention school productions.Alternatively, it also makes an exciting and engaging option for end of year post exam activities.

Positive: Communication, Professionalism, Quality, Value
The receptionist is very kind and she gives me lots of alternatives of how to achieve my dance goals even though it's not on my list to start a dance school and she gives lots of information! I'm very happy that I don't need a qualification for choreographing! Yey! 😂😀 .

Critical: Professionalism
Very rude staff that just care about money. Technique not important, grade 1s to experienced grade 5s in the same class, mostly played games and socialised. Not professional at all and very poor quality.

When I enrolled my daughter, I was told that I could get a refund after one lesson if she did not like it. The class was a disaster and well below promoted standards. When I asked for the refund they said we dont do refunds and the girl on the phone should not have told you that. This company stole $320.00 off of my family and could not care less. Dont trust this company

Started my full-time course at Dance Factory mid-July 2020, although my first 2 terms were a bit weird due to the covid situation (classes on zoom for few weeks), I was able to see myself make huge progress with techniques and basics in jazz and ballet, as I came with no dance background at all. (little bit of hip hop fondations)
Management has been nothing but kind to me, as I'm an international student who's also working a lot, they've been supportive and treating me like family and encouraging me since my first day. Teachers are patient, and as long as you're here to progress and invest yourself

Great place to come to experience professional dance classes in Melbourne. Have been loving attending the intermediate jazz class casually to get back into the technical dance training that I experienced when I was younger. Also a great place to hire as an affordable dance studio for dance classes, gigs and rehearsals.

I've been doing Jazz as an adult at Dance Factory for 7 years. I have found all the teacher to be great and very helpful. Personally I think dance is a great way to stay fit and it's also good for your mind body coordination. I highly recommend the Dance Factory to anyone who wants to learn how to dance and have fun.

I feel really lucky to have found Dance Factory. I'm currently a part time student, and the experience has so far been really great. I don't quite understand the experience of some of the other people who have reviewed here saying that beginner students are ignored by staff/management. I started as an almost complete beginner (excepting some pretty negligible childhood dance experience) and definitely haven't felt ignored/neglected by staff. Everyone has been really inclusive and welcoming so far.
The teachers are experienced and approachable, happy to answer questions and are able to balance

(2.5 stars if I could)
I've done one year here (2018) and for beginners I would recommend attending here for basic technique. The facilities are quite nice but some studios are slippery as well as some being to small.
Student and reception:
Other students there are nice and welcoming and the two receptionist are always working hard but still have time to talk which is extremely nice. Other members of the reception team at some points would harass people for money and if you went to audition for another school would tell you off. However others are like mothers to all the students.

I've been taking adult casual classes at Dance Factory for about 10 years. During that time I've met some great people, made lifelong friends, and improved a lot as a dancer. My favourite thing about this school is the way the receptionists knew my name the second time I ever came in, and are always friendly and chatty. It's very welcoming and for a large school has much more of a family vibe than others in the area.

I do not recommend enrolling in a full-time or a part-time course as this school is only interested in money, and will not care if their students find work or not. They get government funding to keep their numbers up as they can't seem to keep many students. If you are a beginner, you will be ignored by the management. Students are not treated equally. The government funding benefits Dance Factory as a business to keep making money, and they are very dishonest.
