Whether you need a self contained cottage or cabin accommodation, or prefer to set up a campsite in the bushland camping ground, Durras North is the ideal location. Nestled in between Durras Lake and Durras Beach, it is surrounded by the Murramarang National Park and Batemans Marine Park.

Perfect for swimming, surfing, fishing, kayaking, walking or just relaxing on the beach. Durras North has the world's only Kangaroo Guarantee. If you don't see Kangaroos, you get a full refund - guaranteed! Other than Kangaroos, a wide range of other Australian wildlife may be seen including Parrots, Kookaburras, Possums, Bandicoots, Dolphins and more.
Services
We (Andrew, Julia and Lara) have been keen Durras Lake North campers. You may have seen us camping here over the summer, or at Easter. It's a job change, a tree change, and a sea change; along with a special growing-up experience for Lara. We will strive to provide the special holiday accommodation that makes Durras Lake North such a desired destination.
These four 'retro' cottages were built around 40 years ago to accommodate people wanting to escape the 'big towns'. Externally, the cottages look much the same as when they were first built - though we have brightened up the colours. It's a wonder they are not heritage listed! Internally, you will find them very comfy with television, DVD players, microwave, full kitchen, heater and fans.
Our four standard caravan park cabins provide comfortable accommodation & covered decks for you to enjoy the outdoors. All are air conditioned for summer and winter comfort. All have wood fireplace/BBQs, so you can sizzle a sausage or toast marshmallows. Pelican, Penguin, Dolphin and Possum Cabins have a single bedroom with a double bed and double/triple bunk beds elsewhere to sleep a maximum of 4-5 persons.
The campground is in a sheltered bushland setting surrounded by the Murramarang National Park. All campsites are flat and are ideal for tents, campervans, camper trailers or small caravans. The camping ground is designed for those wanting a traditional South Coast camping experience. You will feel as if you really are camping in the bush rather than in a caravan park.
Being prepared for going camping is pretty important. The more information you have about a camping ground, the easier it will be for you. Below are some of the frequently asked questions (FAQ's) we from people seeking camping ground information. If you need to know something that isn't below, please phone us on 02 4478 6072 or email us for more camping ground information.

We had to cancel our spring camping trip due to lockdown and, the booking was changed to the summer school holidays without being charged extra and very efficiently. When we arrived the owner welcomed us with no mask on (January 2022 so masks are compulsory) in an indoor setting. He was not rude but not welcoming either which I would have expected for a holiday destination. We had no choice due to the changed booking and had to take spot V76. In the video on the website it looks like the perfect bushland setting and I have to say one side is really beautiful with a kangaroo guarantee but facing

I just had a great time with my kids at one of the campsites. The facilities are great and the staff do all they can to keep them clean. Our site was nice with a new layer of chipped wood if we needed to put our tent on it. We felt like we were secluded with lots of resident wildlife coming through! We even had a Goanna come through each afternoon at the same time.
The outdoor cinema was very exciting for my kids and the beautiful stretch of beach and lake was great for all swim levels.
I found the staff to be very helpful and always had smiles or hellos as we passed by. The cafe was a bonus

1 star bcoz there was no zero!!
And again the same review as the previous ones.. the manager/owner needs a lesson or
2 in how to speak politely.. we are not even talking customer service here. We can all read your rules and fully understand it. We just asked you to honour a change of dates request which you had initially but then had a change of mind a day later and called it an error from your end. And you called us silly and said we had to live with covid. Well not easy if you are immunocompromised and have kids who are not vaccinated. All you had to do was to tone down a bit  but you have

Went to have a look at a van and annex to purchase spoke to female on phone and seemed lovely, arrived there and was greeted by the owner who showed me the site and cabin, as everyone else has said owner is rude and arrogant and turned me off straight away.
The first few words were him trying to intimidate us, he spoke down to me in like another person said in a condensending way. I could only imagine he would get ruder and ruder as u stay there. He could have had a sale today but I want a holiday location where im made to feel comfortable not ask a genuine question like "how long has the van

Well. Andrew needs a personality transplant. Rude and rude and rude. Got stuck again with the boggest Camp site. Paid 4 nights left after 1. Friend called up and was asking not to pay the full fee due to positive covid case. Nope, still paying. No moving dates suggested? It's a nice spot. Ruined by poor drainage and attitude of Andrew. Sorry I picked up map and didn't read it correctly! I understand the rules but your rudeness is something else!

Really nice location, however the cabin bathroom stank of sewage and majority of the utensils and cookware were dirty, I don’t think they were checked. Otherwise it was okay for a short stay.

My wife experienced no understanding from the staff at this cafe last week, with the exception of the female barista. Asking to use the toilet, she was met with 'are you a customer!" when she had morning tea on two days. The man there came over to pick on the way we opened their umbrella as though we were stupid. the atmosphere was unfriendly and did nothing to persuade us to come back. We had travelled 500k to support businesses like this one. but not again.

My Husband and I enjoyed a delightful stay in our caravan. Beautiful bush canopy and abundant wildlife. Kookaburras, kangaroos, cockatoos what more could anyone ask. The Owners were a pleasure to deal with and we can't wait to return.
