Do not even bother booking this hotel!!. We paid over $300 per night and thought we would be staying in an amazing, updated room with beautiful ocean views and would be well rested by the time we left. We paid for three nights and left after the second night. What we walked into was a renovators delight with outdated furniture, 1980's appliances, an old dilapidated kitchen, deck chairs that are ripped, worn and should be thrown away. The bed was so uncomfortable both my wife and I woke up numerous times throughout the night. Shame on the hotel and the owners for renting out this room. I have included

After staying at numerous locations here, we have finally found a Hidden gem!! Everything about this place is wonderful. The rooms are huge and spacious. All the staff are absolutely gorgeous and so accommodating with your every whim. Your room overlooks the ocean and it certainly is central to everything! We were only supposed to visit for 3 weeks. After 6 months, we’re still here. I think that says it all.

Stains on our bedding that were so disgusting that when we notified Housekeeping, they actually threw the bedding out. I don't even want to think about what the stains were other than to say we were appalled. By the looks of it, the housekeeping staff only clean the sheets but don't even consider any of the other bedding such as bedspread or bed cushions etc.

We looked into buying a unit at Carmel By the Sea as we have stayed there many times over the past 20+ years and really enjoyed it. Thank goodness we did not!!
Although the location is terrific - close to the beach and lots of excellent restaurants as well as Woolies, the following will ensure that we will not go back.
We registered at reception with a very surly, unfriendly woman. We unfortunately had to talk to her again when we asked for the oven door to be fixed so that it would shut - again so unfriendly!! I note that she is mentioned unfavourably in other reviews.

Fabulous place and awesome position and amenities but our apartment only had aircon in one bedroom and the lounge area and it was struggling to keep both areas cool we found it cooler to open the big balcony doors . The second bedroom only had a fan which really did absolutely nothing to cool the room considering that bedroom was facing the morning sun and only had 2 small windows facing out the side wall , and you really had to close them at night because of the noise from the road below even though we were on a reasonably high floor .So considering we booked in February and a hot weekend it was

Great weekend escape with two families with young children. Rooms - large space, firm beds, good bed size options, has ceiling fans. Aircon only in lounge area. Facilities - has indoor pool, outdoor pool, gym, steam room and sauna Car park - nice large car park, easy to park in bays Location - near the beach, Pratten park, Kurrawa Surf Club and Oasis shopping for Woolworths and restaurants on Oracle boulevard. Improvement suggestion - odor from refuse bin area on Level 3.
