Services
The Yarra Ranges Animal Hospital has been providing veterinary services to the Yarra Valley and surrounds for over 30 years. We operate two clinics, the main being in Lilydale with a smaller clinic operating in Yarra Glen. We have put together a collection of information about our Hospital at Lilydale and the Clinic at Yarra Glen.
I joined the Yarra Ranges Animal Hospital in 2005 and apart from a year of travelling, have been here since. I studied my Bachelor of Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland and graduated with first class Honours. I have obtained a Membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in the area of Small Animal Surgery.
The Yarra Ranges Animal Hospital offers a wide range of high quality services for your pet in our modern and purpose built clinic. Consultations at the Yarra Ranges Animal Hospital are by appointment only at our Lilydale and Yarra Glen clinics. Surgery- from minor surgery, such as desexing, to advanced orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery.
At the Yarra Ranges Animal Hospital we have a great team who is here to help you with your animal's medical condition. We use the latest technology including digital radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy, full blood testing facilities and extensive knowledge to allow us to best manage and diagnose your pet.
At Yarra Ranges Animal Hospital we are fully equipped with dental equipment for small animals and horses. Dental disease in dogs and cats are one of the most common diseases. There are many factors that predispose animals to periodontal disease such as the type of diet we feed our pets, tooth overcrowding, mouth breathing and the fact that most of us don't brush our pets' teeth.

Forever grateful for the kindness and professionalism shown to us and our precious pets by all the staff in this practice. Dr Kim and Fiona gently helped ease our beautiful Zoe out of her suffering today, and they were as gentle with us as they were with our gorgeous tuxedo cat.
It is these times that become etched in our memory, and we appreciate the generous serve of kindness and honesty, associated with wonderful clinical skill.

We took Cookie to your animal hospital in Lilydale yesterday and I just have to say the staff should all be so proud of their work. The care provided and reassurance to us was out of this world. We even received a follow up phone call today with no “you need to get a second appointment”. Just helpful advise to put us at ease.
It was cheaper than both other places we have been to and the service and making us new puppy parents comfortable was just so amazing. We won’t be going anywhere else. From admin to how they worked around covid restrictions, to making our pup feel less anxious when

Took our 10 year old Dobe to YRAH two weeks ago after he ate bamboo cuttings which pierced his intestines causing infections and other issues. He was quickly admitted, diagnosed and prioritised for surgery which was successful albeit with a significant recovery period. We then opted to move him to the Animal Emergency centre at Mt Waverly as they provide 24 hour observation which is unavailable anywhere locally.
He seemed to be improving so we checked him out on Sunday afternoon however by Monday morning it was clear something wasn’t right and we took him back to YRAH. Once again he was admitted

DO NOT GO TO THIS VET. By far the worst experience with a vet in my life. They kept my dog all day after saying a few hours, had to call multiple times to find out what was going on. It was evident they didn’t leave my dog in recovery after a general anaesthetic, she was out of it and drooling when I picked her up. Told is she gets worse or vomits to bring her back. An hour I had to take her back. Was told the surgeon would call the next day (2 full days ago, still no call) to talk to me about options etc, after spending over $700 getting with this vet to get to this point. They didn’t show

Today we went through the most devastating experience of having our beautiful and incredible dog pass away. The Yarra Ranges Lilydale staff were so warm, kind and patient with myself and my family as we grieved and said goodbye to our angel. Olivia in particular was so lovely to us throughout this terrible time, and we are so thankful for her kindness. Thank you Olivia! The other staff were also amazing (Thursday 11:30am 12/03/2020) who showed us compassion and care during phone conversations and face to face contact. Thank you Yarra Ranges Animal Hospital, my family and I appreciate your hard
