The medical term for a bunion is hallux abducto valgus (hallux = big toe). Often hereditary, they can lead to pain and stiffness in the big toe joint. There may also be redness and swelling around the joint and/or bony prominences at the top of the joint. Evaluation of work, leisure activities and training programs that may exacerbate the condition.
Osteoarthritis in the foot can be very painful and disabling. It's often neglected when it comes to clinical trials and medical funding. However, recent studies show medial mid-foot OA (affecting the big toe side of your foot) to be far more common than previously thought, with prevalence in the older population at 88% and 7.8% in the younger community.
Often lumped under the term 'plantar fasciitis' or 'heel spur', plantar heel pain is very common and can be very disabling, especially those first few steps in the morning or when getting up from sitting. There are a number of differential diagnoses that need to be considered, for example calcaneal stress fracture, fat pad pathology, nerve irritation, abductor hallucis tendinopathy or plantar fascia pathology.
With peroneal tendinopathy, you may experience pain around the lateral malleolus (outer ankle bone) and/or along the outside border of the foot. This pain usually increases with activity and reduces with rest, and can occur when turning the foot in or out. Ankle instability and swelling may also be present.
This is a common injury, affecting the anterior (front) compartment of the lower leg- the shin. Anyone can be affected, but it is more common in people who engage in running, sports or increased activities. Whilst colloquially referred to as shin splints, the more accurate term is MTSS- medial tibial stress syndrome.

Vanessa was recommended to me by Rachel the Physio downstairs. After smashing both my heel & ankle 10 years ago and being in pain since then she not only fixed me but fully explained the why's and how's. ABSOLUTELY a legend and she did this in 2 visits.. Thanks heaps...

Can I give you guys 11 out of 10? Zahra looks after me and is so knowledgeable and caring. I truly am most grateful for her gentleness and expertise she has exhibited towards the care of the difficult situation with my feet. The front desk girls are very helpful too! How lucky am I to have the 'bestest' almost on my front door?!!!

After being told by two orthopaedic surgeons they couldn't do anything for my Achilles tendonopathy, thankfully a friend recommended Vanessa and Zahra. Vanessa has gone above and beyond the call of duty to reduce the pain and swelling and increase the flexibility of the joint and she also devised a therapy plan to help me at home too. I'm back in the gym 5 days a week and can do so much more than I could just a few weeks ago and continue to improve with each visit. I would highly recommend both podiatrists in the practise (Zahra's cold hands are a godsend on a hot day!) and already have my newly

I had a serious fall I and subsequently broke my right tibia and fibula in many places and as a result I needed 3 operations to fix my leg. Vanessa helped enormously with my recovery and confidence as I needed to learn how to walk again and it was because of her knowledge and expertise on the bio mechanics of the leg , together with the acupuncture she used to release tightened muscles and the orthotics that she designed and had made for me ensured that I was able to walk with confidence again. Vanessa is a credit to her profession and her outstanding care and support is First Class.

Went to see about painful achilles problem - was basically told that it was normal and to 'run through it' - did some acupuncture and got told to get proper running shoes - which i did. Pain persisted so went to see Dan Everson podiatry in caloundra who recommended inserts for shoes $600+ later and still pain to the point where walking was difficult - went to doctor ( which I should've done first!) who told me I had acute achilles tendonitis! Pretty lame that the first 2 heath care 'professionals' who supposedly specialise in this field didn't pick up such a common problem and putting me at risk
