A group of us stayed here Saturday night and absolutely loved it. The host is the most hospitable we have ever had, nothing was too much trouble. It was all about our comfort from early check ins so that we could attend ales on rails, to advice about best places to eat, nothing was too much trouble.

After reading some reviews prior to booking, my partner and I were left somewhat hesitant to go ahead. Decided we'd give it a good anyway as we were only going to be in town for a night and it wouldn't be a huge loss if we were disappointed.
We called direct to the hotel to book and spoke with Mathew, the owner. We booked a King Suite with a Spa, and asked if we could please have one of the four with a lighter coloured theme as we'd seen some have a dark theme too. Mathew obliged, and we were set.
Arrived around 5pm to check in, called the number on reception, and Mathew was straight out. Took

The motel was perfect. It was located in the heart of the city where you can walk to all amenities. The modern room had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Mathew was friendly, welcoming and lovely. He accommodated our stay and provided all that we needed. I recommended this motel to anyone wanting to stay in the heart of Castlemaine.

Staff were excellent. Taking my booking online and arranging a flexible check-in and check-out arrangement that was easy and convenient. Booked a King Luxury Suite based of pics on the website for the hotel. The room was exactly as depicted. The old Day School that the rooms are situated in are heritage buildings that have been maintained to an excellent standard and add to the charm of the Motel. The interior of the rooms are indeed luxorious and complement the heritage feel of the Motel. Easy Book in, just left message & Manager Matthew phoned back.
Nothing was too much trouble! Matthew knew I was travelling alone, he 'followed up via phone' ensuring I was ok, on arrival Matthew had the place lit up with heater on, safe & warm. Loved my stay here, thankyou Matthew 👀

When I checked in they could not find my booking. It was in the wrong month despite receiving confirmation. Toilet seat was lose, almost fell off, I reported it after check in and nothing was done to fix it. Bedside tables removed from wall and were not fixed during my 2 day stay.
On check out the reception area had a smell which came from the kitchen. Not pleasant.
Overall not a happy stay for what I paid per night.

Great location topped with even better service and staff. I was there for the weekend with my friends and we were impressed by the clean rooms that we had. The staff were very nice and helpful in recommending a great restaurant for dinner. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a nice stay in a lovely town.
